Advantages: Handy, easy

Disadvantages: None

I have used various types of toaster bags and one of the branded products I have used are Kitchen Craft toaster bags.

A browse around the kitchen craft website is really a homeowners dreams. They really have some amazing products in just about every area you can think of, tools to help you cook, bake and create some masterpieces. We are lucky enough to have a very posh kitchen shop in our neighbouring village town and they stock a wide range of Kitchen Craft products which is where I bought these bags. There were two bags in the pack I bought and were in the £6 region I believe. I've used JML Toasta bags too but have to get these through the post so I liked the fact that I could just pick these up in store.

Toaster bags are used for what they are named after, in the toaster to make all sort of toasted treats although I just use mine for making toaster sandwiches. These bags are a nice change from making toasted sandwiches in an electric sandwich maker as they do not make a mess so you do not have to clean up a cheese covered machine after use.

The bags are made of a non-stick material, almost like a thick wax paper that is made into the shape of a bag. The bag is opened at the top and has a cut out handle on each side of the bag. They are really quite thick and sturdy and not flimsy in anyway so you do feel safe loading it with a sandwich and knowing it will cook safely in the toaster. Then you just make your sandwich to your own delicious requirements and pop it in the bag. I find the bag is roomy enough for me to use my hand to guide the sandwich into the bag so it does not get taken apart.

I have a toaster with an extra large opening on one side so I always put my sandwich in there. Once the toaster cycle is done, up pops your bag and sandwich. So I don't burn my fingers trying to get the bag out I tend to use a knife or similar item to hook through the bag handles and pull out the bag from the toaster. Then your lovely hot toasted sandwich is ready to eat.

I think the only downside I have with these bags is that they are wipe clean only. The JML bags I have are dishwasher safe which is great because I can just pop them in there after use and not have to worry about them. With these bags I have to wipe them out straight after use otherwise you get bits of cheese and toasted bread sticking to them but that said they do wipe clean easily so it is not too much of a hardship!

All in all a handy product to have in the cupboard.
