I have arthritis in my hands which is controlled for a lot of the time but can become painful all of a sudden, while I'm not debilitated with it there are some things I have begun to struggle with in recent years. Opening those appalling ring pulls which seem to be on every tin can going now is one of the things I do struggle with and I had found myself avoiding tinned foods simply because I found it so awkward to lift the rigid ring pull and once lifted I wouldn't always have the strength to pull the ruddy lid back anyway! My daughter went to York a couple of years ago and when she came back gave me a bag of goodies from Lakeland as she knows I love their ... Read the complete review

More and more tins of food these days have ring pulls attached, it is a brilliant idea and saves the time and hassle of opening them with a tin opener. It is not hard to open the tins with ring pulls but sometimes they break my nails, especially if I have acrylic ones on, so when I saw this Magi pull opener from Lakeland for just £2.49 I snapped it up. What is it - It is a simple tool to help you open ring pulls on tins and cans. It is made from a tough plastic that is hard wearing and easy to grip. It is a bright blue colour so it is easy to find in your drawer, when you are in a hurry to get the beans on. The magi - pull is dishwasher safe. ... Read the complete review

In my youth there was a popular song called "Fings ain't what they used to be". Change this to "Fingers ain't what they used to be" and it could be my signature tune. With bone cysts, bone grafts and some arthritis, the fingers that used to do fine embroidery now struggle to open a can of baked beans. Well, they did until I discovered Magi Pull, marketed by Lakeland Limited. Take a hollow tube about an inch long. Attach a handle just comfortably long enough to hold in the palm of the hand to one side of the tube. To the other side of the tube fix a hook, shaped so that's it's at right angles to the handle. If you ... Read the complete review

Long gone are the days when we had to rely solely on a tin opener to open a can of beans. Now that the ring-pull cans have been introduced to many products this has made our life easier, no need for the tin opener now. However, not everyone will agree. For instance a few months ago our elderly neighbour popped over as she was unable to open her can of soup due to arthritis in her hands. She struggled to get her fingers underneath the ring-pull, let enough muster up enough strength to tug the lid off. I am very sure that she is not alone in thinking that this invention doesn?t suit everyone. A few days after that incident, a Lakeland catalogue winged ... Read the complete review

I am a huge fan of Lakeland and seem to be slowly but surely working my way through buying everything they sell and reviewing it! I spotted this Magi Pull on the Lakeland website for just £2.49 and I actually got it free when I purchased a Lakeland MagiCan Auto for £9.99. I wanted to get the MagiCan anyway so this was a great freebie for me. The Magi Pull is a shaped piece of plastic that is designed to slot underneath a ringpull, then apply pressure to the end (almost like a handle) and then it will lift up the ring pull and open the can with little effort at all. The Magi Pull works very well and is ideal to protect my nail polish or my acrylics ... Read the complete review
