Lakeland is so full of amazing things that its easy to forget them all. I didn't even mention this in the store review I just wrote but now that I've remembered about it I think this must be my favourite purchase from them.

After a few years, and a couple of rented houses, of ignoring my mum's insistence that I should buy Lakeland's oven liner I eventually bought my own house, listened to her and bought a Lakeland oven liner too.

This is a sheet of PTFE coated heavy-duty non-stick fabric, apparently. It is a flexible foamy, plastiky, rubbery sheet that can be cut to size to fit your oven. It costs £9.78 for a sheet which will be enough to fit the base of a standard oven. We inherited an oven with our new house 2 years ago and I had to use a wallpaper scraper on the base of it to try and get it even vaguely clean. I then put the oven liner in and every 2 to 3 weeks I clean the oven, take the liner out and wash it with a pan scourer in warm, soapy water. It takes about 20 seconds to get it spotless. In the two years I haven't done any more to the base of the oven than give it a squirt of kitchen cleaner and a quick wipe with a j-cloth but it is still as clean as the day I scraped it and the oven liner looks like new as well. So I can confidently say that it was worth every penny.

Summary: A fantastic time (and elbow grease) saver, everyone should get one
