Advantages: It really don't stain; The right size for single servings; Easy to clean

Disadvantages: None

I have been looking for something like this for ages because I heat a lot of stuff up in the microwave and am sick of the food staining the inside of my microwave containers and jugs. Beans and spaghetti are the worst but even simple things like reheating stew makes the containers look so manky that I end up chucking them away when they've still got loads of life left in them.

This small saucepan from Lakeland is perfect though and the best thing is it cost me less than £4.00! It's exactly what it says it is and that's a small saucepan. A 13cm diameter pan with a lid that fits good but has got vents where the spouts of the saucepan are to let the steam out. The saucepan is made of "non-stick polycarbonite" and whatever that is it works wicked, I've had mine for about 6 months and have cooked loads of different stuff in it and it still looks as good as when I first got it.

The saucepan and lid are clear so you can see the contents cooking and it's dead easy to clean with Fairy liquid because the sauce of whatever's in it just slides off the plastic and you only have to wipe it with a cloth. You should always use the lid because you can tell the difference if you've used it or not because it keeps a lot of the flavour in, I've seen it more with beans because the juice bubbles more evenly when you use the lid.

I've cooked all sorts in it and some of the stuff I've been surprised that it hasn't stained the saucepan like when I warmed up chicken balti from the Indian and that stuff usually stains everything it touches. Nothing has stained the saucepan and it hasn't started getting that weird smell like a lot of microwave containers when they start smelling stale. Just to give you an idea some of the things I've cooked in it have been bolognese, curry, beans, tinned toms, soups including tomato soup and chilli sauce and I've used the pan at least 5 days a week for different stuff so for it to be looking as good as new is wicked!

You can buy the saucepan online and at the minute they're giving you a free mini pot made out of the same material and they look cute.

Nicely reviewed :-) I must pick one of these up next time I am in my local Lakeland store!

I have one of these and wouldn't be without it now. I no longer have to wrestle with cling-film. Great review.

This sounds something I could do with. I am sick of getting roasted trying to lift stuff awkwardly with bowls. I will look out for this Thanks : )
