“ Brand: Lakeland / Type: Laundry Detergent / Category: Laundry „
Earlier this summer I went through a phase of banishing chemicals from my kitchen and bathroom cabinets, mainly I tried cleaning and polishing products with the general outcome that most of them did the job as well as the "evil" ones, but were usually double the price. As I'm on maternity leave I'm afraid on most of the products my purse won over my good intentions.
However, the Lakeland Wash-it ball was one of the ones that I have continued to use (I'll never go back to washing detergent now) as it did a good job AND was significantly cheaper.
The Wash-it ball is full of eco-friendly pellets which - here's the scientific bit to impress and amaze - activate water molecules to produce electrolytic oxygen and hydrogen ions which will lift dirt from fabric. Sounds far too technical and space age for me but it doesn't matter since I know that whatever those little green pellets are doing - it works.
The ball is effective for 100 1 hour cycles and I can confirm that I used my first one for over 6 months. 6 months at 3 washes a week is 78 washes on a 1hr 20min cycle - not bad. I've worked out that 6 months worth of the gel capsules I used to buy would cost me £40. The wash-it ball is under £8.
I used with all fabrics and colour loads including my baby's clothes are it gave great results. Cleaning off food and other baby-type stains! perfectly whilst still retaining the fabric quality.
The other benefit of this ball is that it also softens, so no need for fabric softener (although I do find this benefit is the first to start fading and used softener towards the end of it's life)
Within the pack is also a stain removal stick which I used once and was happy with the results, but for me isn't an necessary part of the purchase and could be sold seperately.
The Wash-it ball is available form Lakeland stores or online at www.lakeland.co.uk for £7.82. Well worth giving a try.
