Vinyl flooring.
Having just replaced our conservatory (the old structure was ancient and wood rotten) we decided to do something about the uneven concrete floor.
Should we tile it with some flagstones? Should we put a wooden floor down? Should we put lino down?
Well what we did was research all the flooring we could put down .We considered the price, the durability of surfaces, the ease of laying floor could we do it ourselves, or did we need to hire someone to do it for us/
Well what we decided was to lay laminate flooring we looked in a flooring shop couldn?t find what we wanted and then went to B&Q . B&Q had a fairly good range and we bought Floor master tile L O C in a sort of terracotta stone colour.
This flooring has a ceramic tile effect and is sold in packs to cover 1.748 sq metres each pack cost £31 we needed 4 packs we also bought some underlay.
The tiles have a 12-year guarantee and are suitable for heavy domestic use not suitable for use in a sauna.
Well we were eager to lay it and undid the bags the flooring came in strips about a metre long 28 cm wide each one was divided into 4 tile patterns.

The first 2 were easy to lay the tile strips had an easy locking system running around it a bit like tongue and groove the first two fitted together wonderfully.
The third one we had to cut to fit the gap left between fitted tiles and the end of the room. We had bought a special saw for that cost about £4.It was reasonably easy to cut.
Well we fitted the next row and the next row. Sections where you had to fit more than one side together were a little tricky.
Well we got to the last row a little difficult as we ran out of space of un-tiled floor to stand on to fit together the locking system but with a little fiddling we got it right.
It took us nearly a day to fit it.
Well it looks good .Hey it feels good to have done it our-selves. Not too difficult not super easy though. I spilt some soil on it
from a plant easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. I was very impressed. We intend having a kitchen extension next year planning applications have just gone in and I think I might use this type of floor covering different colour for the kitchen floor and lay it myself.
Thanks for reading I would certainly recommend this floor covering.

No sawdust was produced laying this flooring and preparing this opp

We have laminate floor in our bedroom, it is lovely but was not as easy to lay as you describe.

Hope the new floor is baby proof!

I have looked at this "tile" laminate a few times. It seemed expensive so we laid real ceramic tiles in our conservatory this summer. I have laminate wood in most of the downstairs of the house. It is easy to keep clean and surprisingly warm underfoot. Good luck with the new grandchild! Kim :-)
