The Le Creuset steamer basket fits all their saucepans, by having a few ridges in the base of the basket that allow it to sit into each of the pans, so that it can be used with any of them. THis means that you can get away with just having one that will do everything. The great benefit of this steamer, is that you just place it over a pan of water, but I always make sure that there is something else like potatoes cooking beneath, so that it will save you money, when compared with an electric steamer. Made out of solid stainless steel, so easy to wash etc., and the holes in the base are a decent size to allow the steam through, but you won't lose food through them. There is a tiny steam vent in the glass lid too, that allows some of the excess steam out, and the glass lid means that you can see how the food is coming along.
