      Disadvantages

      A gorgeous fabric conditioner

I always use a fabric conditioner when carrying out my laundry, as whilst I purchase highly fragranced laundry products such as Bold and Ariel, I find that fabric conditioners remove static. I am very fussy when it comes to my purchases, as I will only buy Lenor or Tesco Ambience, as I find the fragrances of other brands to be too weak in addition to the fabric conditioner being of a thin consistency. As Lenor is frequently on offer I always bulk buy half a dozen bottles with this review discussing their Sleep Sensations.

The packaging has been considerably updated from the image shown above and is rather appealing to the eye. The 1.4 litre bottle that I have just finished using contains a sufficient amount for approximately forty washes, so with the seven washes I carry out each week it lasts me around six weeks. If you are familiar with the current advertising for Lenor you will be aware that they are marketing the product as "Fresh Sheet Week". As a result, I was eager to discover whether this claim was true, particularly as I've been purchasing their fabric conditioners for many years with the scent on their previous products lingering for only a couple of days.

Sleep Sensations is packaged in a calming lilac colour with the bottle displaying colourful images of spring flowers. In keeping with the packaging and the product name, the fabric conditioner is also lilac and on removing the screw top lid I anticipated that I would witness the aroma of lavender, particularly as I associate its fragrance will sleep and relaxation. However, I could not recognise its aroma and whilst Lenor inform us that the scent is of spring flowers, I must admit to being unable to detect anything specific. I find that sniffing a fabric conditioner straight from the bottle to be a rather overwhelming experience, particularly as the aroma is so strong, but fortunately, the scent weakens during the washing machine cycle or when hand washing.

The fabric conditioner offers a good consistency unlike Lenor, which I used to find too thick and as a result, it frequently clogged my previous washing machine. The liquid is easily poured without resulting in any spillages and can be used for both machine and hand washing. The side of the bottle provides a few images on how much should be used with the inside of the cup being the measuring guide. I find that half a cap, which is 35ml of liquid, is sufficient for my machine washing although I would advise that it's a bit of a guessing game, as the cap does not display any measuring increments. However, due to my many years of experience with carrying out the washing (which is something my husband cannot admit!) it is second nature to me as to how much is required.

On removing my laundry from my machine the scent of the fabric conditioner was evident and unlike its initial aroma when located in the bottle, it was very pleasant with its beautiful floral tones. Whilst I prefer to dry my washing outdoors on the line, the good old British weather will currently not allow, so I have to resort to my tumble dryer, which can create static. However, due to the fact that my laundry has been treated with fabric conditioner, there is no sign of any static on its removal. I find the aroma to be far more subtle when the washing is dry and I love the fact that towels are soft and when scrunched in the hand the aroma of the fabric conditioner wafts up towards my nose.

In relation to Lenor's claim of "Fresh Sheet Week", unfortunately, I cannot agree, as whilst my bedding remains beautifully scented for a couple of nights, the fragrance has totally vanished by the third day. Consequently, the fabric conditioner is exactly the same as it was prior to this claim. Lenor further claim that the product will deliver four times longer freshness to laundry, which is one that is difficult to evidence. However, I always notice its scent when I open my wardrobe, particularly if I have not long placed a recently washed item on to its hanger.

It's the super softness that it offers to my bath towels that I adore, as whilst my husband likes his to be rough and resembling the texture of cardboard, I prefer mine to be soft and smooth on my skin. However, I would advise that the use of fabric conditioners on towels can reduce their absorbency although I cannot speak of any issues. A point I would mention is that fabric conditioners are flammable, so it should not be used on any items that are flame retardant, as it will reduce their flame resistance. I cannot speak of any adverse effects whilst using, such as skin irritation.

Despite Lenor Sleep Sensations not living up to its Fresh Sheet Week claim, it still receives a five star rating from me, as it's a brand I have used time and time again and will continue to use. As previously mentioned, Lenor Sleep Sensations is frequently on offer although at the time of writing I cannot find any supermarkets offering it at a discounted price. I have checked on the Tesco website where it is listed at £3.40 although I would wait until it is reduced and bulk buy.

I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Lovely smelling clothes throughout the day just like it promises

Lenor is a popular brand of fabric conditioner with a large range of different products and fragrances. Prior to using this, I have never used fabric conditioner before as I was dubious about how necessary it was. However, after commenting to my boyfriend how nice his clothes smell he bought me two bottles of Lenor Sleep Sensations which is the light purple coloured variety and this is what he uses.

The bottles I had were 750ml which is enough for 21 washes but it is obviously up to you how much you put with each wash so I'm sure this could be stretched to a few more if you wanted. It is simple to use as you just fill the cap and then pour this into the drawer compartment of the washing machine. The liquid is very runny and you should take care when pouring it out of the cap that it doesn't drip anywhere. The cap simply screws back on to the bottle but it is not child proof cap which might be of concern to people with small children.

As mentioned previously, clothes washed with the product smell lovely and fresh not only when they come out the machine, but also throughout the day when they are being worn. I don't have a tumble dryer so I often put things on the radiator to dry in the winter months and I have noticed that the warmth enhances the smell and also makes the whole room smell nice. Who needs a yankee candle?!

I will happily buy Lenor products again and I think I will try a different fragrance next time to make a change. It is available in all major supermarkets, many cheaper highstreet shops and also online. The price seems to vary hugely depending on where you buy it but the average seems to be around £4 for a standard sized bottle. Sometimes value packs seem to be available which are in larger bottles for a discounted price so this is worth looking out for. I have also seen smaller bottles as well which would be good if you are not sure if you will like the fragrance and just want to try it out.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A nice fabric softener.

When it comes to purchasing fabric softeners I tend to go for whatever is on offer and when there is a good deal on I will normally stock up on it so that when there is nothing on offer I do not have to pay out the rather expensive prices for it. Recently my local Tesco have had a good deal on Lenor Fabric Softener, I decided to stock up on this buying a bottle of each of the different fragrances. One of the fragrances I purchased was Lenor Sleep Sensations, with the promise of smelling like spring flowers I thought this would make a lovely fabric softener to use, especially with the warmers months on their way.

        Packaging
The Lenor Sleep Sensations Fabric Softener comes in a rectangle shaped clear plastic bottle. The bottle has a plastic type label wrapped around the entire bottle, the majority of this is purple in colour, the word Lenor is written at the top in large blue letters, the rest of the label is taken up with a picture of flower heads. There is a yellow coloured square on the front of the label with the words 4 x Longer Freshness written inside in red writing, this really stands out against the mainly purple label. The fragrance also appears at the bottom of the label, I was surprised at how small this was written as it tends to blend in with the picture, the amount of doses in the bottle also appears on the front of the bottle. On the back of the bottle is a statement about the product. All of the product information such as warnings, ingredients and how to use the product appears on both sides of the bottle. The bottle has a large blue plastic screw lid on top, this also doubles up as the measuring cup.

        The Lenor
The fabric softener is lilac in colour, I was quite surprised at the consistency of the fabric softener as it was rather runny a bit like water, I did expect it to be a bit thicker than this, but after all the main thing was how it made my clothes feel and smell. The runnier consistency I found made it less likely for any of the product to be wasted, I did not have stand the bottle upside down when it was nearly empty to get the last of the fabric softener out of the bottle. For some reason when I purchased the Lenor Sleep Sensations Fabric Softener I expected it to have a lavender fragrance, I think this was purely due to the colour, however when I first opened it to use I was surprised to discovered that it didn't actually smell of lavender at all, the fragrance was definitely floral and as the description of the back of the bottle states (which I didn't read at the time of purchasing it) it really did smell of spring flowers. The fragrance of this product was quite strong compared to some other fabric softeners I have tried, however it was not overpowering at all, the fragrance was lovely and fresh and I was confident that it was going to leave my washing smelling just as fresh.

        How To Use
Listed on the side of the bottle are the recommended doses of fabric conditioner to use depending on the size of your washing load. For example
        * Small Load - 2/3 of a cap
        * Larger Load - 1 cap
        * Hand wash - 1/3 of a cap
Personally I prefer to just put a full cap of the fabric conditioner in my machine especially if I am washing towels and bedding, although if I am doing a particularly small load I will use half a cap as this is plenty to freshener and soften my clothes.
        Warnings
The warnings on the side of the bottle are pretty standard for this type of product and include
        * Keep away from children
        * Keep product away from your eyes, if this does occur rinse thoroughly with clean water.
        * Do not pour the product directly onto your clothes
        * This product is flammable and can increase flammability, it is recommended not to use it on garments labelled as flammable
All of these warnings are clearly listed on the side of the bottle with some of them also being illustrated with pictures.

        Price & Availability
As I have mentioned I bought my Lenor Sleep Sensations from our local Tesco, the 1.4litre bottle costs £3.37 which compared to some fabric conditioners isn't too badly priced, however when I purchased mine the bottle was half price and cost me just over £1.90 which personally I thought was excellent value for money. In each bottle it is stated that there are 40 doses of the fabric conditioner, obviously I haven't actually kept count to see if there are actually 40 doses, however I have found the product to be long lasting and very good value for money. As I have said I prefer to purchase my fabric conditioners when they are on offer, however if I really had to pay full price for a product I think I would go for this as it is of a reasonable price even when not on offer.

        My Opinion
Overall I would definitely recommend Lenor Sleep Sensations, I have used this product to wash all of our clothes and it really does leave them smelling lovely and fresh as well as feeling extremely soft. Some fabric conditioners I have used in the past have smelt nice when the washing first comes out of the machine but as soon as it dries the fragrance disappears, however with this product that is not the case, the fragrance of the fabric conditioner lasts extremely well and leaves my clothes smelling fresh even when they are dry. If I have my washing drying on the radiators in my house the fragrance of spring flowers does waft around as the clothes dry which I particularly like. I would definitely consider purchasing this again especially as it is such good value for money and also long lasting. This is an ideal product suitable for the whole family and one I would certainly use again in the future and recommend to anyone.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Good conditoner and good quality.

I love the smell of nice fresh clothes and I like lots of different brands and my wife usually tries to buy them when they are on special offer and can save lots of money as they are a real bargain on offer and like to stock up on them too.

I bought this one on offer for only £1 and it was for a 1 litre bottle and it smells beautiful, it comes in a plastic bottle and so is recyclable and has an easy to open screw off top, inside it is a nice thick lilac colour and the smell is has a really nice fragrance to it, it is a very good quality liquid and it pours nicely into the cap to place into the machine, and it does not run as some of the other brands tend to do.

My clothes and bedding smell nice and freshand when I take them out of the machine and once dried I can definitely still smell the freshness and fragrance for a long time and when I open my wardrobe I can also still smell them too and it does last a very long time on the fabrics, unlike some other brands, I have tried some of the cheaper ones, of which I must say some of them are quite good but for the low price of this one at the time, it made sense to buy it instead and there are some products we cannot go without and fabric conditioner is one I just cannot be without.

The concentrated liquid means that not so much is needed and so the bottle lasts so much longer and it has 4 times longer freshness than some other brands, which is perfect for me and the smell is like fresh flowers and beautiful.

Only two thirds of a cap is needed to a capful, depending on the size of the load in the machine and a third of the cap can be used for soaking fabrics that need to be soaked in a bowl, which I often do with my conditioners and I usually use it that way for very delicate clothing and then just rinse thoroughly and they are lovely and soft.

I like the towels to smell of this conditioner and once dried they are soft and fluffy and the bedding smells lovely too and I can see why it has the name sleep sensations because the smell of the sheets makes a good nights sleep.

I use this for my grand children's clothes too and they are nice and soft for their delicate skins and with a perfect smell.

This conditioner is a very good quality and value for money and the texture of the liquid is soft too and very smooth, and I do recommend this for anyone to give it a go for yourself and look out for the special offers as it really can save you tons money and I will buy this one again as I am very pleased with the results and the quality I was very happy with too.

        I give it 5 stars.

            see review

When it comes to fabric conditioners there aren't many on the market that I haven't tried at some point. This one by Lenor entitled 'Sleep Sensations' had slipped through the net though till now...

I have stated many times in my fabric conditioner reviews that I don't like cheap watery products that you end up using more of and don't work out cost effective.

Having said that, I am not willing to pay over the odds just for the latest well known brand but I often manage to get products from the likes of Comfort and Lenor when they are on offer and I normally don't pay over the £2 mark.

As my washing machine seems to run itself we go through a lot of washing liquid and fabric conditioner. As we were getting low on both products I stocked up whilst in my local Iceland recently.
Iceland doesn't stock a vast array of household products, but they normally have two or three of each item by different brands. In the case of fabric conditioner all they had on the shelves was this one I am reviewing today.

            Price and packaging~

The bottle is nothing exciting to look at - straight up and down which slightly curves in towards the top. The bottle is made of see through plastic and the conditioner which is a creamy lilac colour can be seen clearly despite a plastic wrapper around the centre.

This is a 1 litre sized bottle and is a concentrate, meaning a smaller amount does the same job as twice the size. The price was quite reasonable and cost just £2 which I thought was quite purse friendly.

            My experience of using it~

I used this firstly on all my bedding and poured the required amount (as usual the lid acts a measure cup) into the the drawer of my washing machine.

On pouring I could detect a really intense lavender scent which was okay, but nothing too exciting in comparison with some of the newer brands on the market at the moment. The consistency was very watery which resembled some of the cheaper brands, but as it was the only one I had it would have to suffice.

After the cycle had finished and I opened the door I was met with a very nice scent of lavender. It wasn't as overpowering as it had been on first inspection.

The fragrance was infused into the bedding and even after drying it was very noticeable - but in a nice way.

As for the performance it scored highly - my bed sheets felt incredibly soft and the scent remained for days without fading.

I have nothing against lavender but it wouldn't be my first choice fragrance for fabric conditioner. What started off as not too appealing, turned out to be a good buy and I would recommend it without hesitation.

As for it's claim it's a 'sleep sensation', I can't really say I slept any better than normal but my pillow certainly was enticing on an evening.

Lovely smelling fabric softener, scent lasts well on clothes

I never used to use a lot of fabric conditioner, in an attempt to be thrift, but my husband really did miss the lovely smells from the clean washing, so I now do use it to indulge him (and you won't find me complaining either, actually!)

We usually use Lenor as it is one that the various members of our family don't have an adverse reaction too, as they have sensitive skin, but I recently decided to try a different scent and picked up the sleep sensations variety.

This has the usual relaxing, sleepy scents of lavendar and chamomile. I am really pleased with the aroma of this softener, although it isn't exactly as I expected. I really love the scent of lavendar, but in fact this is more of a general sweet floral scent with an element of lavendar. However, it is still very pleasant indeed. It's not too sweet, nor too feminine, so great for all the family.

I was really pleased at the effectiveness of the softener in terms of scenting my clothes. A waft of lovely perfume hit me as soon as I opened the washer, and it has really lasted well. Some trousers I wore all day at work still had the smell lingering on them at the end of the day, and when I got a sheet out of the cupboard to change the beds, it still had the scent quite noticeably.

In terms of softening, the clothes did come out nice and soft. I find it hard to tell the difference between different brands (or indeed, no softener at all) in this respect, but certainly there was no problem with it.

I would certainly recommend this product for it's scent and the long-lasting smell. It isn't the cheapest around but compares reasonably to other brands and is often on offer. I will be trying the supermarkets own soon to try and keep the cost down, but still would not mind continuing to buy this, I think it's worth it and it does last a long time too.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A nice enough smell, but what's the point when it neither makes my clothes soft nor helps me sleep?

In an attempt to help my insomnia I don't mind trying anything once, and I'm afraid once is all this one deserves as although it smells nice it does nothing to help me sleep and doesn't really soften my clothes to any great degree.

It's scented with lavender and jasmine which is nice, to be honest I can only really detect the lavender which is unusual as jasmine I find is usually a very heady smell yet in this fabric conditioner the lavender practically overwhelms it and I find this rather disappointing.

You use the cap to pour the conditioner into the washing machine, I've tried using the correct amount and also double to try and get a little extra softness to my washing but nothing seems to work.

It does create a little more softness compared to just using washing powder, but nowhere near as much as my usual Comfort fabric conditioner and it doesn't even soften the clothes to the same extent as other Lenor varieties. I have used it on my everyday clothes and also on my bed clothes, as I thought this would be the ideal way to ensure I had the soothing and relaxing lavender scent right by my nose when I was trying to sleep.

I wasn't really expecting this to help with my insomnia if I'm honest, and I suppose I should be grateful that it smelled nice as I do love the scent of lavender. The thing is I like the smell of Comfort conditioner even better than this one and although this conditioner scents my bedroom nicely it seems a waste of £1.98 to buy the bottle when I have several room sprays which give a nicer smell.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                .

I'm always trying different fabric softeners, and although I have my favourites, i'm always on the lookout for trying others. This one is one of my favourites and although I normally just use this on bedsheets, it can be used on any washing.

This softener is meant to help you sleep, as it is scented with Lavender and Jasmine. I'm not sure if it really does help you sleep any better, but the scent is strong enough, but not too strong that it is overpowering. For a couple of days afterwards you can smell the scent of this around the bedroom and it really is a lovely scent.

The liquid is a lilac colour and is pretty runny, as all softners are. The packaging is standard for this product, just a thick plastic bottle with a screw lid. You can measure out the liquid in the lid and it has the measurements on the back to show you how much of the cup you use for the load of washing.

This softner is available in 2 sized bottles. There is the 500ml bottle and the 1 litre bottle. Am a bit sketchy about the price, as i've not bought this in a while, but think the small bottle costs around £2 and the larger one about £3.50. I buy the larger one, as it is cheaper and I got it on offer for £2 the last time I bought it. Since I only use it on bedclothes, the larger bottle can last me about 5 months.

A lovely smelling scent that smells fresh, cosy and soothing.
