It was around a year ago when I first became acquainted with Lily-Flame scented candles when I was given one as a gift. I love candles, so I always appreciate being given them as gifts, but my Lily-Flame candle was just that little bit extra special, due to how unique and luxurious it looked. Indeed it was very different to any candle I have had before and I had not seen or heard about this brand.
I was so impressed with my candle that since then I have gone on to buy one for myself as a treat now and then and have also received another as a gift. I can honestly say I have loved every one so far.
~~ Lily-Flame Scented Candles ~~
Lily-Flame Candles have a website - www.lily-flame.co.uk where you can see for yourself their range of candles. They are available to buy from the website, as well as from Amazon, but you can also find these candles in stores such as John Lewis, which is where my first Lily-Flame candle was purchased from.
I have fallen in love with the range of scented tins available, but Lily-Flame also sell other candles and frosted glassware. You can find more details on the website. For now though, it is the scented tins I am interested in and I love everything about them, from the design of the tin to the candle inside.
These scented tins measure 7.7 x 6.6cm per tin, and each one has an individually designed label with an embossed pattern. The look of the tin alone, tells me that this is a luxury product and I find them all very attractive and appealing to look at and you won't be disappointed when you lift off the lid to reveal the candle contained inside. They are so unique looking and never before have I seen candles like these.
A lot of work goes into the preparation of these scented candles. Lily-Flame make up a lot of samples then whittle them down to the very best ones, using blind testing and also burning tests to judge which scent gives the best 'throw' (sending the scent into your room's atmosphere).
There are around 42 different scented tins, so there is certainly plenty to choose from.
~~ Morning Dewberry Scented Tin ~~
I chose this candle because I love the colours blue and purple and also I used to really like the Dewberry scent a few years back and would often buy the scented oil from The Body Shop as well as Dewberry toiletries when they were hugely popular.
This candle comes in a gold and blue tin with embossed gold lettering. Under 'Morning Dewberry' is the words 'to start a perfect day'. Each candle in this range has its own little description embossed on the label.
It looks lovely to look at and once you remove the lid, the tin is filled with pale blue wax. What I think is unique about these candles is the triangular shaped pieces of wax which feature around the wick. Here they are blue and white and this is what makes these different from other candles and scented tins I have had before. Together with the attractive design of the tin, these two factors make these candles look that little bit extra special.
On opening the tin, I could detect the scent of Dewberry immediately. It smells lovely, a fruity fresh fragrance which soon filled my room not long after lighting the wick. I have tried a few of these scented tins and this one is by far the strongest smelling up to now. If you enjoy the Dewberry fragrance you will love the scent which is thrown from this candle. Lily-flame state the fragrance here is 'Sweet and clean, ripe spring morning dewberries' which I think is a very apt description.
The burn time is stated as 35 hours. I found on this occasion I would light my candle for around 2 hours on an evening and it lasted over 3 weeks, although I did not light it every evening during that time. I don't know about it starting a perfect day as described, but I found it a lovely scent to unwind with at the end of a day!
Once the wick has been extinguished the scent hangs in the air for up to an hour afterwards I have found. The other good thing about these tins is that the wax burns evenly and I was not left with a well in the centre of the candle as you often find with many candles.
These scented tins make an ideal gift or you may just want to treat yourself. The price of these is £8.50 from the Lily-Flame website with £2 postage and packing, though you may find them slightly cheaper at times on Amazon and also if you buy instore at John Lewis for example, you don't have to pay postage. I personally have found there is more to choose from when you purchase online and with names such as Coconut Grove, Lavender and Lime, Jack Frost, Winter Wood, Heather and Honey, Snow Fall and Bluebell Forest to name but a few, I am sure there is something there to tempt everyone!
If you love candles and are a fan of Yankee Candles for example, then why not give these a try too? Yes they may seem quite expensive, as are other quality candles such as Yankee, but there is no wastage, due to burning evenly. I can't afford to buy these every week, but they are lovely as a treat now and then. I don't think any candle-lover would be be disappointed to receive one of these.
Lily-Flame scented tins are highly recommended by me!
