      Very helpful

      A fantastic looking tea towel that unfortunately faded too quickly for my liking.

      === The product ===

      This is a Marmite branded tea towel. It is made of 100% cotton and is 30.5cm high x 18cm wide. This is predominantly red with a large Marmite jar pictured in the middle with all the usual dark brown & yellow detailing. The jar is centred in the middle of the tea towel and it takes up about 2/3 of the surface of the tea towel. There is a cord like loop in one corner of the tea towel meaning it can be hung from a cupboard handle or on a hook in one of my cupboards which was a feature I did not notice until after I had made my purchase and had begun to use this tea towel.

      === The packaging ===

      We purchased our tea towel in store and it simply had a paper tag which had been tagged through one of the corners of the tea towel. When wanting to use this I simply snipped the plastic piece and the tag was simply removed leaving a minute hole in the tea towel that I could not notice after I had washed it. The packaging is simple but that's fine with me as there was minimal waste packaging.

      === How to wash this ===

      I have been washing mine at 30 degrees and occasionally on a 15 degree cool wash depending on what it has been used for. I initially washed this with some other dark coloured items before using it for the first time to ensure that any dirt, fluff and excess colourings were removed before I begun using this to dry my dishes. I found that for the first few times I washed it that the colour remained very strong but now it has been washed possibly once a week for around two months I have found that the red has faded quite significantly and this has taken on quite an old look now like I have had it for a few years which is quite a disappointment for me.

      === Where can I buy this & for how much? ===

      This can be purchased from numerous stockists and ours came from a BHS Store after we received a wedding gift card to spend in there. The tea towel we purchased, the one pictured, cost just £4.00 when they have a sale on and I believe that the current retail price is around £6.00 which seems great value to me for such a large tea towel, and a 'branded' one at that.

      === Overall opinion ===

      I was disappointed with how much the colours faded after just a few washes and this really took away from the effect of this tea towel. My main reason for purchasing it was that I have a serious of 'Marmite' related purchases such as cake tins and coasters and I wanted something extra to go with this in my kitchen, however, I don't want to put this out now because of the fading. I am upset with just how quick the colours have faded and now find myself not so willing to use this on a regular occasion.

      The tea towel works quite well for it's actual purpose, because it is 100% cotton it is absorbent, it mops up spills well and it's main use in our house is for drying crockery and cutlery and it does this well. No smears are left behind and any water or other soap residue is quickly and efficiently removed, items are dried and the tea towel can easily manage a full draining board of items without being soaking wet. I have used this on occasion for cleaning up spillages on the floor such as when I washed up and spilt a load of water all over the floor, this works very well at this also.

      I find that this does not stain easily and providing it is washed as soon as possible after spills and splashes I find that it returns to being just as clean, albeit more faded, than when I first purchased it. There are no strands of cotton coming out of this and edges are still as perfect today as when I first purchased this back in June, the quality of this is fantastic and it is just a shame that the colours have run really as this has detracted from the wonderful look of this tea towel.

      I love the design of this tea towel, it's full of fantastic detail with lots of text that appears on the front of a bottle of Marmite. This is a quirky design and is brilliant for anyone who is fan of Marmite, whether it's because of the flavour or because of the icon that it has become over the years. I kind of wish that I had kept this for best but it is a huge tea towel that is very absorbent so now it is faded I am sure that I will continue to use it for its main purpose, drying things!
