Advantages: Great scents, non toxic, large bottles last a long time

I've been using Method products for about 3 years now. They do a whole range of products, from bathroom and kitchen cleaners to all purpose sprays, wipes, specialist surface cleaners for stainless steel and granite, handwashes and leather wipes amongst others.

The products are made from biodegradable and natural ingredients, and if you look on their website at http://www.methodproducts.co.uk, you can find out exactly what is in each product, why they have included it and where it originates.

Method products have lovely scents. My favourite is the floor cleaner which has a lovely almondy scent and fills your home with a really gorgeous smell. They also do a lovely lavender scented all purpose spray and the bathroom cleaners smell of mint and eucalyptus - gorgeous! Best of all the products really work. Often I find environmentally friendly products less effective, but not so with Method. They are very effective cleaners, and what's more a little goes a long way, so although they are quite a bit more expensive than other cleaning products, the bottles are generally large and they do last a long time.

Best of all they are non toxic and kind to your skin. This is great for me as I suffer from eczema and very sensitive skin. Also it means I can clean when the children are around and not worry too much about them coming into contact with the cleaning stuff.

My favourite Method product has to be the OMop. It comes with a microfibre cloth which attaches by a sort of velcro pad onto the bottom of the mop. When you have finished mopping, you can just pop the pad in the wash ready for next time. The mop itself has a flexible joint meaning you can put the handle almost flat and slide the mop head under your sofas and other hard to reach places. Brilliant! You also only need to slightly moisten the pad, so gone are the days of having a soaking wet mop and wringing it out in a bucket. It's particularly good if you have wooden floors which don't like getting too wet.

I also love the leather wipes. They can be used on all types of leather, but I just use them to clean our sofas. They have a lovely scent, are quick and easy to use and leave the leather lovely and shiny.

Method used to only be available in John Lewis and Waitrose, but they are becoming available in many more places including Tesco and Sainsburys. Although they are not cheap, they are well worth the price for people conscious of the environment and of the chemicals they are bringing into their homes.

Summary: Well worth a try if you want a non toxic alternative.
