We went on holiday with our baby son when he was 3 months old, and as we were staying in a hotel I couldn't sterilise his bottles using a microwave as I usually did. Instead I bought Milton Tablets and brought our steriliser (luckily it could be used as both a cold water steriliser and microwave steriliser) and 7 months on I am still using it!

Milton was always the brand I associated with babies and sterilising, so was the obvious choice for me. Milton sterilisation products have been around for over 50 years, so seemed like a brand I could trust! The tablets come in a cardboard box, containing 28 tablets in blister packs of 4. You just need to add one tablet to 5 litres of water (my steriliser has a line you fill to so couldn't be easier!) you can then pop all your feeding equipment in it and 15 minutes later it's ready to use, no need to even rinse anymore! The solution is then ok for 24 hours. You can also leave the equipment submerged in the solution until it is needed for up to 24 hours.

I have found the cold water sterilising so much easier than other methods I have tried. We use it all the time now! We can sterilise everything using it, teething toys weaning bowls, spoons, anything that will fit in it really! It smells fantastic, that great 'clean' smell, and our sink is pristine as it has Milton poured down it every day now! We make up the solution every night, and then anything that needs sterilised through the day can be popped in, no need to do big loads of sterilising (unless you want to!) We found our bottles were becoming brittle and cracking with the constant microwave sterilising, this way is much kinder to them and they last a lot longer.

My mum has tried supermarket brand sterilisation tablets and we don't like them as much. Firstly you had to use 2 tablets (so are you really saving money?) and you had to rinse everything before using. Not a big problem but a bit of a pest when you don't usually have to!

All in all we really like Milton Tablets and don't buy anything else. I actually use a Milton Surface Spray now and always carry Milton Wipes in my changing bag. The Milton brand is definitely one of my best finds in the mine field that is baby products!
