Advantages: No cake to slice and divide into party bags! easy to assemble- good centrepiece - talking point
Disadvantages: a little smaller than I imagined for rhe price
On looking around for cake stands for my daughters birthday cake, I came upon 'cupcake stands'. They looked quirky and I soon came to love the idea of little cupcakes that I wouldnt have to cut up instead of the usual supermarket £10 cake.
My first trip was to Lakeland where the cheapest cupcake stand was in excess of £35 which I considered too steep for the use I would give it,
Argos was my next stop but their cupcake stands didnt hold the cakes individually.
By chance in John Lewis, looking for a gift for a friends child who is a fanatical little chef I came across the Miniamo range.
The miniamo range is bright, bold cookware and accessories for the little chef. I must say its a little pricey but totally gorgeous!
The Miniamo cupcake stand that I thus chose cost me £25. It came in a splendidly pretty box showing the product made up and holding the most beautifully iced cupcakes! In reality the product was a little disappointing when I opened up the box, a mass of curly metal to assemble, but I perservered. It was very easy to make with the four tiers just screwing together. As it took shape, the item did begin to look better but I must admit it was overall smaller than Id imagined.
When made up, if you look down at this product it has a flower shape to it thus making a pretty table centrepiece.
It looks divine when filled with cupcakes but I have also used it to display fruit ! Yes fruit ! It is strong enough and looks stunning with different coloured pieces. Its certainly both a focal point and a topic of conversation especially with the other mums! And as an added bonus, when you have finished with it for the day it is easily dismantled and doesnt take up too much storage space in your kitchen cupboards.
As mentioned I purchased this item in John Lewis for £25. It it made by Ciroa Homewares Pty Ltd and was designed in Australia.
It is made of stainless steel and is easily washed by hand.
It holds 23 cupcakes over four tiers.
The dimensions: Height 34cm and diameter at widest point is 34cm.
Overall I would recommend this product especially if you can get a bargain on it somewhere! Or perhaps go halfs with a sister as youll only ever get it out at parties etc and theres only really the need for one per family!
Summary: Your little cupcakes will love this cupcake holder!
