Advantages: Pleasant aroma, Grease removing capabilities, Long lasting suds

Disadvantages: None I can find

I seldom used anything to wash my dishes other than Fairy. I had, in the past had a rather unpleasant experience with Persil washing up liquid and so I remained brand loyal to Fairy despite constant price hikes. Then, whilst wandering around Morrisons the other week I spotted Morning Fresh on offer at two 500ml bottles for 99 pence. After a smidgens deliberation time coupled with the fact that they didnt have any of my usual Lemon Fairy, into my trolley went two bottles of Morning Fresh Zesty Lemon.

Morning Fresh is made by Cussons, that fair sized company that also makes toiletries and soap. The bottle is clear plastic and nicely rounded with the Cussons logo embossed onto the bottle both front and back at the top. Being a clear bottle means of course that the liquid is on immediate view and in this case is a nice golden yellow colour. Morning Fresh is splashed in large and bold dark green lettering across the front label, the background of which is white and lemon (maybe because this is lemon scented..) and the words zesty lemon are written underneath the Morning Fresh product logo. The back label pronounces that this dishwashing liquid has long lasting bubbles, cuts through grease effectively and contains real citrus extracts.

The cap on the bottle is dark green and actually a bit of a bugger to flip up one handed. This bottle has been in use for a couple of weeks now and the lid is still stiff to lift. Whilst being a pain in the proverbial it does mean that should you be a little bit accident prone (as I am) there is no danger of this stuff spilling anywhere accidentally!

The scent, when you do finally manage to prise the lid off is fairly strong, but not so powerful as to make your eyes water. The lemon smell is unmistakable but as for real citrus Im not sure. The smell reminds me of lemon Starburst sweets. Its almost the same. Now whilst Im not for one moment here advising that you should dive into your nearest bottle of Morn
ing Fresh and gobble up the contents, the resemblance is quite uncanny. The smell also lasts well whilst youre washing the dishes. I like a product that doesnt just smell of whatever for a short while and it is good to find something that matches Fairy for scent last.

You really only need to use a very small amount of this product per bowl full of dishes. The liquid itself is quite runny which put me off at first because I equate thin and runny dishwashing liquid with the cheaper and much less superior end of the market. But a small squirt is really all that?s necessary unless of course you want a bubble fest going all over your kitchen sink/draining board/cupboards/floor. Ooops

This bottle has been put through its paces well and truly over the last couple of weeks and has had to deal with all manner of baked on and dried on food, all in the name of consumer testing of course and nothing to do with me not being bothered to wash the dishes at night at all. It?s cleaned through dried on Weetabix with minimum soaking, got all manner of dried on home made pasta sauces clean off saucepans and Pyrex dishes, and dealt admirably with a very bad case of blowtorched onto a grill pan melted cheese. The bubbles do last well which is more an aesthetic thing than anything else I think because lack of suds doesnt necessarily mean lack of cleaning power because the product is still there in the water working away. Even when the bubbles do fade away Morning Fresh does still get the most revolting concoctions of food off plates and pans.

I estimate that on washing the dishes around twice a day, which is normal in this house; this bottle will last a good month and maybe even longer, which is the same as a bottle of Fairy would last us. As the normal retail price of this is around the 75 pence mark it makes it a good deal cheaper than Fairy to boot.

What Im trying to say is that Im now a convert. Morning Fresh can do everything that Fairy can do a
nd at a much cheaper price. The scent is pleasant and long lasting, the amount needed is minimal to do an excellent cleaning job and even with my sensitive skin Ive had no problems whatsoever and Im not a rubber gloves sort of girl (well not in the kitchen anyway). Its an all round great product that does exactly what it says on the bottle, which represents excellent value for money. Yes, I recommend it to everyone in case you cant guess!

A belated welcome to dooyoo. I favour the thicker washing up liquids, but you have tempted me. :-)

I've recently moved from Fairy to this and you're right, it's excellent.
