“ Brand: Mr Men & Little Miss / Type: Tissue / Category: Cleaning Products & Utensils > Wipes, Towels, Tissues „
I bought these tissues recently and I think they are really lovely and a nice idea.
My grandchildren are forever having colds and so we are always wiping their noses. We are trying to teach some of them how to blow their own noses and we found that these tissues helped to make it seem a bit more appealing!
They come in a cardboard cube box with lovely bright pictures on the side of various Little Miss and Mr Men characters. I think they appeal to either a boy or a girl as it's not particularly pink or blue so ideal for either sex. The tissues are pulled out of a hole at the top and they have pictures on of the characters. These are only small and i think that makes them look really nice. The tissues themselves are really soft so they are gentle against little noses especially tender skin which may be sore if the nose is blown a lot.
My grandchildren love these a little bit too much! They want to use them all the time and now pretend to have a runny nose just so they can use them! It is lovely to see them learning to blow their noses and also being more willing to have their noses wiped instead of the tantrums it would sometimes cause!
These tissues are great for children with being so soft. The box itself is nicely decorated so looks nice when on display. We will no doubt be keeping the box once the tissues have ran out and use it for something else! We really recommend these.
My little girl has a random obsession with tissues and goes through box after box of them - she uses them for literally anything! I tend to let her choose a box for herself on our weekly shop and most of the time she goes for some novelty ones (as would most children). The last few boxes she has chosen have been the Mr Men variety which I love!
The Mr Men tissues come packaged in a cube design box which is very vibrant in colour. The box is a pale blue colour with a thick pink band around the bottom which tells me that there are 60 3-ply tissues inside. There is a large picture on each side of the box of some of the Mr Men and Little Miss characters such as Little Miss Naughty, Mr Tickle, Little Miss Sunshine, Mr Bump and Mr Happy.
To open the box of tissues you need to remove an oval piece of cardboard from the lid which is perferated which makes it very easy to do so. Underneath the lid there is a piece of plastic with a slot cut in so the tissues just pull through.
I fully expected the tissues to be plain white inside (like other novelty boxes I have had) but they are actually covered with the Mr Men and Little Miss characters which I think is fab! The quality of the tissues is quite good compared to some of the others we have had. I can't say they are the softest I have ever bought but they are soft enough so I feel completely comfortable in having my daughter use them on her nose when she has a cold as they don't cause any irritation at all. The tissues are quite absorbant, my daughter uses a tissue for every tiny spill she makes but when she has made a more significant spill and used one of the Mr Men tissues to clean up they have absorbed much more than I expected.
These tissues aren't the largest you will find, with them coming in a cube the size seems to be standard at 17cm squared but they are plenty big enough in my opinion. I would say the tissues are mainly aimed at children but really I am just a big kid myself and love anything like this so I am happy that these appear to be a firm favourite with my daughter. I think the bright box could deter some people from buying these tissues but I keep them in my living room and think they look quite funky.
I first bought the Mr Men and Little Miss tissues when they were on offer at Asda for just a pound which for 60 tissues I didn't think was a bad deal. The regular price is around £1.50 which again I don't feel is too bad. Of course you can buy larger boxes of larger tissues for cheaper but I like having novelty tissues and the size is fine for my daughter and I.
Thank you for reading my review.
Mr Men and Little Miss Decorated Tissues
I'm the type of person who always needs a box of tissues to hand - I seem to have had a cold for about half of my life and I'm constantly spilling things and knocking things over! A while ago I got a bit bored of having boring-looking, neutral-coloured boxes of tissues on my desk at work, so I decided to check out the more colourful options that Boots were selling. I found a number of different boxes on sale, with all types of designs from cartoon characters to flowers, but these Mr Men and Little Miss tissues really stood out to me.
The first thing that attracted me to this box of tissues, and the main factor that caused me to purchase them, was the design of the box. These tissues come in a cube-shaped box, with a circular hole in the top out of which the tissues are pulled. The box is brightly coloured and each side features a different Mr Men or Little Miss Character. The sides are decorated with Little Miss Chatterbox (with a bright pink background), Mr Tickle (on an orange background), Little Miss Naughty (on a purple background) and Mr Bump (on a blue background) and the top is bright yellow with two small images of Mr Happy. The bottom of the box (which is shown in the picture above) has pictures of all five characters, along with a small bit of text to tell you that the box contains 60 x 3-ply decorated tissues.
As the box is decorated with Mr Men and Little Miss characters, these tissues are clearly aimed at children, and the box would look great in a child's bedroom or playroom. However, the box also appealed to me and I'm hardly a child (I'm in my twenties!), so I'm sure it would appeal to many adults in touch with their childish side, or those wanting to brighten up a room. The Mr Men and Little Miss characters also have a nostalgic element, and I have many happy memories of reading Roger Hargreaves' books when I was younger, so this box of tissues takes me back to those days.
These are no ordinary plain white tissues; they're decorated tissues! The tissues are square-shaped and largely white in colour, but they're decorated with a bright pattern of Mr Men and Little Miss images. The pattern features small images of the five characters printed on the outside of the box, with their respective names printed underneath, as well as purple, blue and pink outlines of characters with 'Mr Men Little Miss' printed inside.
The tissues are of a pretty good quality - they're not the softest tissues I've ever used but they're far better than some horrible rough tissues that I've used in the past. They're pretty soft, and will soothe, rather than irritate, the skin around your nose if you've got a cold and have been blowing your nose and sneezing a lot. The tissues are also quite strong (3-ply), and can mop up a decent amount of liquid without tearing or falling apart.
Measuring approximately 17cm x 17cm, these aren't the biggest in the world (no match for those enormous 'man-size' tissues that some brands manufacture), but they're big enough to wipe your nose on or to mop up a light spill. I suppose they're aimed at children, and they're an ideal size for little hands.
Value for Money and Where to Find Them
I purchased my box of tissues in my local branch of Tescos, where they cost me £2. I've also seen boxes of these tissues on sale for the same price in Asda, Boots and Superdrug.
The box contains 60 3-ply tissues, which isn't amazing value. I had a look in my local Tesco store for other boxes of tissues to compare prices and noticed that there were numerous boxes of decent-quality (non-decorated) tissues being sold for £1 - £1.50 per 100 tissues (although these were largely 2-ply, rather than 3-ply), as compared to £2 for 60 tissues in this box. Nonetheless, as these are 3-ply tissues they are quite strong, so I suppose you would need to use fewer of them in the case of spillages, than if you were to use 2-ply tissues. I also felt that it was worth spending a bit more money to get a nice colourful box and images on the tissues to put a smile on my face, although I'm sure others would disagree!
Although these aren't the cheapest tissues in the world, I really like the box that these come in and will continue to buy them. I keep a box in my car and another one on my desk at work, and I like how they inject a bit of colour into their surroundings. As well as being very handy when I'm ill or knock something over, the little pictures decorating the tissues always put a smile on my face, which is very welcome if I'm feeling ill! I can imagine that these would be very popular with children, and great at getting them to wipe their noses. Overall, I'd certainly recommend these tissues.
