Advantages: Works brilliantly

Disadvantages: Strong smell, irritant

This stuff's fantastic and an absolute godsend for anyone who lives in a hard water area. It costs around £2 for a 500ml bottle.

It comes in a blue opaque plastic trigger spray bottle, contoured towards the top where your fingers would sit when you use it, to make it easier to grip. The nozzle has a safety lock like most similar products, which you turn until it sys 'on' to open it and 'off' to close it. This is effective at stopping leaks as well as stopping young children from using it. If the bottle gets knocked over, however, it does leak from the bottom of the trigger spray.

The trigger action is smooth and not at all stiff, so it's very easy to use. This is for use in the bathroom and kitchen for the removal of stubborn limescale, soap scum, hard water stains, white spots, rust, and general bathroom grime. It can be used on baths (except enamel) and tiles, basins and shower areas.

To use it simply spray it directly onto the surface, leave for 1-3 minutes for stubborn dirt or built up limescale, wipe with a damp cloth or sponge, and rinse away thoroughly with water. It is an irritant so you need to be careful not to get it on your skin when you use it. It's also very strong smelling and not at all pleasant, and I'd suggest opening a window when you use it so that you don't breathe in too many fumes.

I haven't tried this on all the different types of dirt mentioned, but this does an amazing job on limescale and water marks. I often find I get a ring of stubborn limescale built up around the bottom of my taps, that nothing else will shift, but after leaving this on it for a couple of minutes it comes off with just a quick wipe. I also have a glass shower screen that very quickly gets covered in water marks as I live in a hard water area, and again I just leave it on for a couple of minutes and then it comes off really easily, where as with all the other cleaners I use I can scrub for hours and it still won't come off. It's great for general dirt and grime, and soap scum too, but I've never tried it on rust.

I have used this on all the surfaces mentioned and it works on all of them with no problems, and even though it says not to, I've even tried it on the sides of my enamel bath and it didn't do any harm (but obviously I wouldn't recommend anyone else tries it as there's got to be a good reason why they tell you not to!).

Summary: Love it!
