I usually use Flash bathroom, as I find it effective and I adore the smell of it. As I have said in previous reviews I do not like to spend too much money on my cleaning products, so if I can't find the Flash bathroom on special offer, I will often try an alternative. I actually went to Poundland in search of my favourite Flash, but it wasn't in stock. What they did have however, was the Mr Muscle Multi-Task bathroom and I decided that I would give that a go.
The bottle is a deep purple colour and very striking. I must admit the bottle did play some part in my decision to purchase the product, as I tend to be very shallow like that! The bottle is rather large, containing 750mls, yet is comfortable to hold. The nozzle can be twisted to the on/off position, and the trigger is easy enough to use.
As this is a 'multi-task' product, it is suitable for several surfaces - shower screens, sinks, taps, baths, tiles and even mirrors. I do usually use the Mr Muscle glass cleaner on my bathroom mirror, however if I can get away with using just one bottle of cleaner instead of two, then of course I will.
The first thing I noticed when it came to using the cleaner was the smell. I did not like it at all and still don't like it now. It's really hard to describe the scent - I sometimes think it smells a little bit fruity, however overall it's quite a sugary scent mixed in with a heady chemical aroma. It's not a patch on Flash, scent-wise, but it doesn't smell so bad that I can't put up with it.
In terms of effectiveness, I do find the product to be quite good. I have recently had new tiles in the bathroom and am keen to keep them and the grout looking fresh and new. This product wipes away any shampoo/soap/cleanser/toothpaste etc...which may have splashed onto the tiles and gives them a streak-free sparkly finish.
Both my sink and bath are also left clean with this product and are left with a good, clean finish. Soap scum is wiped away quickly and even when I have had dried on rings of conditioner on the side of the bath where it's dripped down the bottle, I don't find I need to leave the product on to work. It really is just a case of spray and wipe with this liquid.
Whilst this gets the taps clean, I don't think it leaves them as sparkling as I would expect, but it is certainly tough enough to wipe away any marks on them and doesn't leave them streaky - just slightly dull in my opinion.
I was a little apprehensive about trying this on the mirror, what with it not being a cleaner specifically designed for just glass, however I found it worked well. It got rid of any smudges and smears and didn't leave any streaks behind.
As mentioned I bought this in Poundland, where of course it cost just £1, however looking around it seems that the big supermarkets don't appear to be stocking it anymore, so it may be a little difficult to get hold of. I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect this has perhaps been discontinued, so discount stores and pound shops might be the best places to look should you want to try this.
Overall, I do like this product and for the price I paid it has been very effective. I also like that I can clean my mirrors with it too, which is a handy little feature. The main negative point for me is the scent which I really don't like at all, however thankfully it doesn't linger after cleaning, and so whilst this would not be my first choice of bathroom cleaner (that award still goes to Flash) I would be happy to use it again.
I have only just started using this product. I found it for 99p (for 750ml) in homebargains so thought that even if it doesn't work, I haven't lost much.
I was also attracted to it because it claims to clean numerous surfaces in your bathroom, i.e. bath, mirror, showerscreen, taps, tiles. This is a great bonus for a number of reasons:
- You don't have loads of bottles cluttering up your bathroom cupboard
- It makes cleaning quicker and easier
- Less bottles to dispose of
- Fewer bottles to replace when they run out
The bottle is really eye-catching. It's a dark blue plastic with a purple sticker with orange and white writing. The bottle itself has been designed well. It is shaped so you can grip the bottle easily when using it and it doesn't slide around it your hand. The spray mechanism is also well made and actually sprays every time. Some cheaper cleaning products I've used have only 'squirted' or been temperamental. Furthermore, you can turn the spray 'on' and 'off' and it does not leak like others I have used. Overall, this feels like quality packaging.
To use on bathroom surfaces you simply spray from 15-20cm, allow the foam to work its magic, then wipe away with a damp cloth. For more stubborn marks leave the product on for a minute or so. For mirrors, spray directly on and wipe with a dry cloth.
Having used this a few times now I am impressed and would definitely buy it again. Cleaning isn't really my thing, I certainly don't enjoy it like some people do, so to find something that really works and makes my job easier and quicker is great. The smell is clean and fresh and not 'chemically' and the product is very effective. I've used it on all areas of my bathroom (apart from the floor) and it does get rid of soap scum easily and leaves your mirror, shower screen and taps shiny. I was especially impressed that it cleaned the mirror so well as I have always used a separate vinegar-based cleaner for this, and I did not think this product would match up.
It is made by SC Johnson Ltd and I believe they also make a similar product for the kitchen which I plan on trying next.
After purchasing the Mr muscle multi-task kitchen cleaner, and being extremely impressed with it. I decided to try the multi-task bathroom cleaner too. I think that the bathroom is the worst room to clean in my home. There is always the odd bit of shower gel and soap clinging to the tiles as well as my daughter's lovely pictures with her coloured bath crayons. I am definitely not a very big fan of bleach so this product sounded perfect.
Mr muscle multi-task bathroom comes in a dark blue bottle with a purple sticker advertising the Mr muscle logo. The bottle is 750ml. It has a clear plastic device on the top that is used to spray the cleaner, this can be turned on or off.
The cleaner in my opinion doesn't have a very nice smell; however it isn't a bad smell either. It is much better than a bleach smell and thankfully it is not very strong so the odour fades rather fast. One spray of the cleaner spreads an even course onto a surface and covers a wide area so not that much is needed. I used the cleaner in accordance with the manufacturer instructions on my following items:
Bath and tiles:
I covered the whole surfaces evenly with the cleaner and left for a few minutes to allow the cleaner to work deep into any marks and left over soap. After a few minutes I wiped the surfaces with a damp cloth and waited for them to dry. I was amazed as to how quickly the crayon and soap washed away with complete ease. Once the bath and tiles were dry they were gleaming and I was very impressed, they looked spotless.
Mirrors and taps:
I sprayed the cleaner onto my taps and mirror and immediately wiped down with a dry cloth. Immediately the mirror looked streak free and shiny and the taps did too. The product can also be used on shower screens.
I also use the multi-task cleaner on my tiled floor. It brings the tiles up as good as new as they are very shiny.
I would definitely look out for this on offer as I picked mine up for just a quid. If this product is not on offer then you can expect to pay around £2.00. This is definitely worth it saying it is a mulit task item and no other cleaners are needed.
I am becoming a big fan of the Mr muscle product range and this is no let down. I was very impressed with its cleaning abilities and I would definitely recommend this. It will certainly be an essential item in my home.
I bought this in a vain effort to make cleaning easier for myself. It costs between about 99p and £1.50 depending on where you buy it from, and that's for a 750ml bottle.
The bottle it comes in is a deep blue/purple plastic trigger-spray bottle. It's contoured towards the top of the bottle where your fingers would go, to give you a better grip on the bottle. The nozzle has a safety lock like they all generally do, which you just turn until it says 'on' to open and 'off' to close it.
The trigger action is smooth and not stiff, so it's easy to use, and each spray gives a decent amount of the liquid. It has a chlorine type smell to it, but it's not too strong or overpowering. However, I would advise as with any cleaning product, that you open a window while you're using it, so that you're not breathing in too may of the fumes.
This cleaner is for most bathroom surfaces, but it's not to be used on wood, varnished surfaces, or gold plated fittings. To use you just spray it from 15-20cm away from the surface, leave it for a minute to penetrate soap scum and watermarks, then wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. For mirrors you can wipe with a dry cloth afterwards to give a streak free finish.
Generally, I think this does a really good job of cleaning around the bathroom. It doesn't take any scrubbing if you leave it for a while before wiping off, and it leaves most surfaces looking spotless and sparkling with minimum effort, just a quick wipe over and it's done. However, I don't find it very effective on watermarks or limescale, no matter how long I leave it on for, it doesn't seem to be able to shift it, or even improve it slightly. So whilst it's a good general cleaner, you will need a separate product to deal with limescale and watermarks.
That cute little Mr. Muscle Man appearing on the television advertisements finally got to me and I thought that I would try his products to see if they are as good as he says. So I bought Mr. Muscles bathroom. It is made by Johnsons Wax so I thought that it should be okay. It is specially formulated to remove soap scum and tackles bathroom grime fast and effectively it advertises. So with the state my Son leaves the bath I knew this would be a good test for it. It comes in spray form. So spray away I did. Left it for a couple of minutes and then wipe away. Now I dont know if it kills germs but I do know it was no better than a lot of cleaners I have used and the smell of it was dreadful. After reading the caution of do not breather spray which is very difficult to do if you are going to use this and with that awful smell it has I would not like to breathe it anyway. So I am not sure how safe this is if you have to be careful about breathing it. I definately would not buy this again and in fact would stay right away from it. I am not impressed by this at all and that smell lingers on.
I often think one cleaner is much like any other but have to say Mr Muscle Bathroom cleaner is brilliant. It comes in a 500ml trigger operated spray gun and is great for cleaning almost any surface found in the bathroom inc: Plastic baths/tiles/shower/toilet/washbasin etc - although it is not suitable for cast iron or enameled baths or gold plated fittings (Ha! Ha!). Just a couple of sprays-it comes out as a foam, and then wipe off. It also kills germs. For more stubborn stain removal it can be left for 30 seconds before wiping off with a damp cloth to reveal nice shiny (and germ free) surfaces, and a nice smell in the bathroom. As a single man living on his own bathroom cleaning is not at the top (or even in the middle) of my daily chores and so somthing that can do the job quickly AND effectivly gets my vote. It removes lager can rings a treat. An added bonus (for me anyway) is that it only costs £1.00 from my local 'just-a-quid' shop. I think it is about £1.20-£1.40 in other shops/stores. Still GREAT VALUE!!
Any friends reading this will probably get a big laugh because I'm not the keenest cleaner in the world. However Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner makes my job far easier. It comes in the form of a spray, which forms a foam. I largely use it on my sink, shower/bath and tiles. I tend to spray it on, leave it for a few seconds (probably while I'm spraying it somewhere else) and then come back to wipe it away with a damp cloth. The results (in my experience anyway) are always brilliant. I have not known anything yet that it is unable to shift any form of dirt and it does not leave a residue. Can you really want anything else? I don't think you do, this does everything I need it to.
I don’t think I should be writing this opinion because I don’t want anyone out there to think that I look like the guy from the advert. I like to think I quite the opposite (and no I’m not just fat). I do most of the household cleaning because I work shifts and my wife works days so logic says that I clean the house when all the kids are at school (that’s my wife’s argument). Anyway I have discovered a great bathroom cleaner in Mr Muscle. I just spray it on the bath, sink and tiles, leave it for about half an hour whilst I do something else, When I return all I need to do is wipe over and the surfaces come up great, nice and clean, smelling like a pine forest and I have got away without too much hard scrubbing. I hope this opinion doesn’t sound too sad but I am trying to be a modern husband and if I can find anything that makes the process easier for me then I will give it a go. It works.
Mr Muscle Multi-Task Bathroom is the all-in-one trigger spray product that effectively cleans your bathroom surfaces, leaving a streak free shine, even on mirrors / Suitable for use on baths, tiles, taps and mirrors.
