Advantages: No muscles required.
Disadvantages: Didn't make any difference.
I pull the plug out of my kitchen sink, expecting the water to whoosh away down the plughole, but no, it just glubs way slowly . So I go for my trusty steam cleaner , but I have leant it to a friend for the week, plan B is to buy some Mr Muscle Foamer. Plan B turns out to be a waste of time and money. The claims on the product looks very promising, unblocks sinks and plugholes, keeps pipes clearer longer. So once we have finished using the kitchen for the evening I begin the treatment. First run hot water down the plughole for I minute, and fill a container with 500ml of hot water. Next empty one of the packs of powder into plughole. Then slowly pour the aforementioned hot water into plughole, making sure all the powder is rinsed completely down the plughole. Wait overnight, flush with hot water, for serious problems you may need to do it again. First problem is that the kitchen stinks of chlorine and the cats sleep in there overnight. So I lock the windows on the ventilation setting as I don't want to find a couple of stiff kittys in the morning. The instructions say to use it in a well ventilated area, but I don't like leaving the kitchen windows open all night for security reasons. It is only recently we had windows fitted that could be locked while semi-open. Next precaution was putting a label across the taps to make sure no one used them before morning. Next morning I flush the system with hot water, but no the plughole is still blocked and glubbing sadly. So the next evening we do it all again, and yes you have guessed , it didn't work. The product contains Sodium dichloriosocyanurate which apart from stinking out the kitchen and being harmful to your skin and eyes, irritating to your eyes and respiratory system did little else for the blocked sink. So did the sink ever get unblocked. Yes I got my Polti back gave it a quick blast of steam, and a slug of disinfectant to clear
the pong and it was flowing freely. Would I buy Mr Muscle again? Definitely not. If you don't have a steam cleaner, I would recommmend an old fashioned plunger rather than this dangerous and ineffectual chemical cleaner.
