Well with two 4 year olds who like to dump their dinner dishes etc in their sink with scraps off food on them it was no surprise that my kitchen sink had developed a bit of a stench. On my last shopping trip I picked up Mr Muscle's Kitchen and Bathroom Drain Gel. I hadn't used this particular product before but when I purchased it was it was reduced to £3 instead of the usual £3.99.

The drain gel comes in a bright orange 500ml plastic bottle with a built in handle. It clearly states on the front of the bottole it is a Mr Muscle product and it is Kitchen and Bathroom gel which 'unblocks your drain quickly, starts working instantly, eliminates bad odours and is safe for all pipes'. Just what I needed as this was a real pong.

Instructions are provided on the back of the bottle, to pour the entire bottle down the plughole and allow to work for 5 minutes. For tough clogs though allow it to work a bit longer. Once you've let the gel do it's work rinse it out with hot water from the tap.

I followed the instructions and I left mine for about 15 minutes. Pouring the clear gel down the plughole I noticed instantly the clean smell coming from it. A definitely chemically clean smell but nothing too overpowering, but certainly 'clean'. Anything was better than this pong though. I waited patiently hoping it was going to remove this stinky pong from my kitchen sink and when I went to rinse it out I noticed instantly that the pong didn't hit my nose. Rinsing the gel down the plughole, again I soon noticed there was STILL no stinky pong coming from the pipe. It's now a week later and guess what? There is still no stench coming from my plughole, which is exactly what I wanted. Therefore I can safely say that this gel definitely works, I don't know what was actually clogging up my pipe and letting off this stink but whatever it was appears to have gone since using this gel so I am very impressed and would definitely recommend this gel to anybody looking to clear their plughole or get rid of nasty odours.
