Advantages: Adequate cleaner for surface dirt.
Disadvantages: The smell and overall cleaning power.
When it comes to my purchases, I'm invariably drawn to anything on offer and this kitchen cleaner was one of those 'bargain' purchases!
~ Price ~
This is available in most supermarkets, currently priced in Asda and Tesco at £1.35 for the 500ml bottle. I bought this just before Christmas 2008 in my local Morrisons in a larger bottle, 50% extra free, therby getting a 750ml bottle.
~ Packaging ~
This comes in a bright yellow plastic bottle with a squirting lever / handle and nozzle at the top of it. This is apparently called a trigger nozzle!
The nozzle can be turned in to 4 positions, 2 'ON' and 2 'OFF' settings. Why it doesn't just have 2 turns instead of doubling up is beyond me. I do however like the fact that it has a 'stop' or closed setting so that when it's not in use you can be safe in the knowledge that if any 'little hands' get hold of it they can't accidentally spray it in their eyes or anywhere else although that doesn't apply to my small child-free household!
~ What the manufacturer's say about this product? ~
- Specifically formulated to tackle tough kitchen grease and grime fast and effectively.
- Anti-bacterial action.
- Leaves kitchen surfaces sparkling clean and with a fresh lemon scent.
~ Suggested areas to use this ~
- cooker tops. I'm presuming by this they mean hobs?!
- sink and tiles.
- work surfaces.
AVOID long contact with wood, enamel, aluminium, painted, lacqured or soft porous surfaces.
~ How to use it? ~
Quite simply turn the nozzle on to one of the two 'ON' settings and spray. Wipe away with a clean cloth. It's suggested that for more stubborn stains you leave it for approximately 30 seconds and then wipe away.
~ My experience ~
Like most trigger spray based cleaners, this is very simple to use. Just squirt, leave for a few seconds and wipe away with a damp sponge.
My benches are rarely caked in grime as I would never go that long in between cleaning and it cleans everyday dirt from work surfaces efficiently.
I have also used this on my stainless steel sink and hob. The hob, like most often has splashes of sauces etc on it after cooking and I used to just squirt this on, leave it to sink in to the stains and wipe it off. There certainly wasn't a great shine to the hob after using it but was definitely grime free but I find that it leaves quite a few smudges even when rubbed afterwards with a dry cloth.
Although this is marketed as a kitchen cleaner, I ran out of bathroom cleaner a few weeks ago so used this - totally ineffective on tide-marks on the bath so if you are looking to double up as a kitchen and bathroom cleaner, don't look here.
I was hoping for a lovely fresh lemon based smell yet what I got with this is quite an over-powering scent that actually hits the back of my throat. It does have an ever so slight citrus based scent to it but for me it doesn't smell fresh and light - far too heavy!

~ My Verdict ~
* Smell
I'm not keen on this at all - too heavy and not fresh and lemony enough!
* Cleaning capabilities
Good but I have to disagree with the statement 'leaves kitchen surfaces sparkling clean'!
* Anti-bacterial
As far as this aspect of the product is concerned I have to 'trust' it as I can't see the bacteria!
* Value for money
Adequate.
Not something I would buy again unless there was a HUGE offer on!!
Summary: Not as good as others I have used.
