Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Not all that effective on grease

My kitchen is a complete pain in the neck to clean, it came with the house and we have yet managed to get round putting a new one in. It looks old and dated but my biggest issue is that it just never really feels clean. The units have a really strange finish to them nothing like it have I ever seen anywhere else. As a result I seem to spend a lot of time cleaning it just to make myself better and have all manner of different cleaning products.

The key things I look for when I am selecting a kitchen product is that it is anti-bacterial and something that also removes kitchen grease. When doing my weekly food shop, I spotter the Mr Muscle Lemon Kitchen Cleaner and after having a quick look at the back of the bottle, this stuff appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. I was familiar with the Mr Muscle brand and have used other products in the range with some success, so I was more than happy to give this one a go. I also think that it is really reasonably priced, costing £1.35 for a 500ml bottle from my local Tesco's. I have also occasionally seen it on offer for £1 which is a great price.

The bottle has a trigger spray dispenser so the product is simply sprayed out by you pulling the trigger. I sprayed the product liberally all over my worksurfaces and especially round my hob which had quite a bad build up of yukky grease. The first thing I noticed was the smell. Now I knew this stuff was lemon scented but I really hadn't expected the smell to be quite as overpowering. It was too much for me and although there was a definate lemon scent, it was quite chemically. After a couple of minutes, I grabbed myself a sponge and set about giving the sprayed surfaces a good scrub.

It did seem to be quite effective, the worksurfaces soon looked really clean. I then tackled the greasy hob area and this is where I was a little dissappointed, it just didn't cut through the grease as I had hoped and I had to reapply to get the results I wanted.

Just a note on the smell, although I found it overpowering when I was using this spray, I actually quite liked the fresh smell that was left after cleaning.

Summary: Average cleaning product
