Advantages: Helps prevent build up of grime.

Disadvantages: Could get expensive with daily use.

As with many of you out there I am sure that there is one particular daily household chore you simply detest, or at least try and leave until last, cleaning the bathroom being my particular one!

The main reason for my loathing is the sheer volume of tiles that need to be wiped down, my walls are tiled from floor to ceiling and always seem to have a good layer of grime on them.
For me to end up with gleaming tiles it takes me a good hour to wipe then buff, and that is before I even attempt to clean fixtures and fittings.

After seeing this product that I will now review, on offer recently in Asda, I thought that this may reduce down the time spent and hopefully the frequency of having to perform this chore.

The product I will now review is - " Mr Muscle shower shine"

The product comes in a large (500ml) stand up bottle with a pump action spray applicator. The bottle is clear through which you can see the clear product. On the front label there is all the obligatory information, brand name, product name and the claims that this product makes.
As the product is clear the instructions for use information is to be found on the back of the front label, this does not hamper reading in any way shape or form and is incredibly easy to follow and use.

My method, which may I add is not too different to the instructed method (I don't tend to read instructions as thoroughly as I should!), is as follows.

I scrub the tilework down, I usually use a bathroom or kitchen spray, whichever is closest to hand. Once cleaned you simply spray the shower shine over the top, you only need a light mist to cover amply.
Then leave to dry! Easy!

Once dried there is no residue to speak of, the tiles are reasonably shiny, though not to the level the product claims and yes it does seem to provide a barrier to the ever impending grime and soap scum that will inevitably come back again!

The product states that this should be used daily to prevent build up but as my bathroom is used quite a lot, shower wise, I worry that I would just be spraying the muck to the wall and sealing it on, thus making it harder to get off in the long run.

This spray has reduced down the amount of times I have to scrub the tiles own, I have now gone from scrubbing every week to every three weeks, which I am more than pleased with.

There are a couple of warnings on this product the first being not to allow prolonged contact with your skin, though how that would be possible is beyond me, as the product states itself that this can be sprayed directly from the bottle onto the surface with no further action needing to be taken, thus no contact with your skin!

The second is not to inhale the spray, this I can understand, I very rarely suffer with any detergents or cleaning sprays hurting my chest or breathing, but this stuff comes out in such a fine mist that it would be very easy to get onto your lungs, and has made me cough a few times.
The scent I would imagine is the secondary part to this caution, the scent is lovely and fresh when first sprayed but can be a little over powering after a few minutes, once dried however just leaves a nice inoffensive scent that simply gives the feeling of a nice clean bathroom.

This product can be sprayed onto a multitude of surfaces, these include most shower surfaces including fibreglass, porcelain, chrome, tiles, glass, plastic, acrylics, enamel and shower curtains (though I tend to bleach and wash mine so can't comment on this claim!).

It does state that you shouldn't use this product on broken or cracked tiles, gold plated fittings, brass, natural marble, finished wood or resurfaced enamel, and also state that for further information that you should always refer to the shower manufacturers handbook for specific cleaning guidelines, this though just sounds like a disclaimer of sorts to cover the brands back!

Price wise I purchase this for £!.00 on offer at Asda, but full price this will cost around the £1.60 mark, depending of course where you buy from, and this product Is readily available from most places.

Longevity wise, for a full bathroom "coating", my bottle has lasted me around three applications, and for the prevention of the grime I am pleased and more than happy to re buy once run out, be warned though if you apply in the stated manner this will barely last you a week and could become a bit expensive!

I like all Mr Muscle products. I didn't realise the bit about not using it on cracked tiles. Must read the labels!! Good review.
