Mr Muscle Sink and Plughole Unblocker

Description: Manufacturer: Mr Muscle - Thick gel specially formulated so that it will not disperse but instead head straight for the heart of the blockage. Clears blocked and slow running sinks, plugholes and pipes effectively.

If you have looked at my profile picture (yes, I'm camera shy!) then you will know that I have quite long hair. As anyone with long hair will tell you, it can be a nightmare for the plughole in the shower and I find that mine can get a bit clogged up, and this prevents the water from flowing away as freely as it should.

Mr Siamese maintains that this is my fault, and therefore, expects me to be the one to sort it out. Obviously I can pull any strands that I can see, but cannot get to those that have already slid into the plughole, which is where Mr Muscle becomes a star!

A 500ml bottle of this product cost me £3.98 from my local shop and you can buy it in most supermarkets in the cleaning product aisle. It comes in a bright orange plastic bottle with the brand name on the front and a useful handle to hold it and ensure that it doesn't slip while you are pouring.

It does tell you on the bottle to use the whole thing for a blocked sink or drain, but mine wasn't properly blocked, just partly, so I decided to cheat and use half the bottle. I have read a couple of reviews on here where other people have done the same, so it isn't just me who tries to save money!

The bottle explains that minor blockages should be left 15 minutes whereas more serious ones should be left overnight. I left the shower around 20 minutes and when I came back, it was all drained away and the water was able to run perfectly again - result!

It looks a little like bleach, in that it is thick and syrupy with a slightly yellow tinge to it. It does smell quite nasty, but you are not dabbing it on your wrists, so that doesn't really matter, though in a confined space, it may be best not to breathe it in for too long because the fact that it dissolves grime the way it does much indicate that it is pretty potent stuff.

I would definitely buy this again, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Why bother with paying extortionate rates for a plumber when you can try your own maintenance first? This product does exactly what it promises and is well worth the money in my opinion.

Summary: Well worth the money
