Advantages: largely smear free results

Disadvantages: difficult to read all the small print

The worst job in the house must be cleaning windows - I really hate it & sometimes wish we lived in an igloo!

Our window cleaners come about once a month & if I had the money I'd pay them to clean all the windows inside as well as outside - but I don't - so have to do them myself!

We're lucky though that our house is nice & bright because there are so many of them so I shouldn't complain especially as I've now got Mr Muscle to help me.

I paid £1.49 for a 500ml bottle but I'm sure I've seen it cheaper in one of the pound shops.

It's made by Johnson's ( the polish people) so I thought it would be a good product even though it cost more than other window cleaners.

The bottle is a good design - unmistakeable on the shelf because of it's bright green colours & orange 'Mr Muscle' logo.

It has a trigger pump action which is very efficient & grroves down the side of the container so it's easy to hold.

It states on the front -
'loves the jobs you hate' (ha!)
'Mr Muscle window & glass'
'non smear with added vinegar'

I found it quite difficult to read the directions & ingredients though as they are printed on the inner side of the label - so you have to peer through the reverse of the bottle to read them. This is OK when the bottle is full but the writing gets distorted the more the liquid is used.

It's usually only me who does the windows but sometimes my daughters get the urge to clean the mirrors & complain they don't know what to do as they can't see the instructions (as if...!)

The spray come out well although I always have a bit of a problem initially in getting these trigger-gun products to start.

The smell is nice & fresh and although you can smell the vinegar at first, it soon disappears.
The smell is difficult to describe but I'd say it was similar to most window-cleaning products - there's nothing distinctive about Mr Muscle.

The results are good - I wouldn't say 100% smear-free, but then I don't think that is possible - but the spray is very good & the windows & mirrors do look sparkly clean.

I use a lint free cloth to clean them & then, if necessary, use some crumpled-up newspaper which really makes a difference.

I don't do this in every room mind you - I don't have the time - but the results are great in the living-room & main bedroom.

We have some 4 doors which have small panes of glass in them - instead of spraying the panes I spray onto a cloth & then clean them as they are more fiddly than window glass.

Where DO all the fingerprints come from I wonder? I can't blame the cat or dog, so I blame the little folk who come out at night....

summary
~
- not the cheapest around
- but mr Muscle does make cleaning windows that little but easier
- largely smear-free results on windows & mirrors
- pleasant smell
- lasts quite a long time - I've used about half a bottle in 3 months
- would recommend this product

Summary: a tried & tested reliable window/mirror cleaner

I use it all the time for the windows in my car, but find it leaves too many smears for large windows (like the house)...Ken
