Background:

I sadly and probably quite strangely enjoy cleaning my windows. I find nothing more satisfying than knowing they are as clean as they can be and I can see the mess that is my garden. It also gives me a good excuse to chat to my neighbours while I'm working.

To be honest I never know how often I should clean them but I do it when I'm in the mood, it a nice day and I see smears, dirt or bird poo on them. The product was first brought to my attention by their television advertising campaign a few years ago. They said 'Mr Muscle loves the jobs you hate' and it cleaned without much scrubbing or effort.

The product:

I have tried a few alternative window cleaners in the past with quite disappointing results, either the windows still have marks or smears on them and I can not convinced all the dirt and grime has gone. A couple of years ago I started using this product and have used it every since.

The bottle has a good designer label that tells us the product name, what it can be used on and the fact it contains vinegar for a streak free shine. It tells you how to administer it and how to use the product.

Only surprise to me is it does not list what the product is made from, just how to deal with any problem such as getting the liquid in your eyes.

Cost:

I think the price is very reasonable for a 500ml container costs currently in both Sainsbury's and Tesco £1.35. You certainly can get a non-branded window cleaner from Tesco at 90p, but I am more than happy to pay a little more for better results.

Appearance:

The product is in a clear plastic bottle that is easy to hold. It has a nozzle and a gun type mechanism for spraying the area required. On the nozzle you have an on/off cover that you need to rotate to administer the green liquid within it.

It comes with the distinctive Mr Muscle logo, which from my experiences in both the kitchen and bathroom mean you get a product that may cost a little more but will do a very effective job for you.

Use this on:

This product works on windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces such as coffee tables. I like a product that has more than one use and although I probably only clean my windows both inside and out quarterly, every week I use this product on my mirrors and other glass surfaces within my house, even the TV.




How to use the product:

You need to turn to nozzle from the 'off' position to the 'on' position then aim the nozzle at the surface you need cleaner and pull the green trigger back. I usually have the product about 15 cm away from the area I want cleaned. You can spray as much or as little as you wish at any one area depending on the dirt you are cleaning off.

You just need to remember to turn to nozzle to the 'off' position when you have finished. As on occasions I have forgotten to do this and inadvertently I have sprayed the inside of my cupboard when I have gone to pick it up.

Smell:

You do not smell anything until the liquid is sprayed on the required surface. It had a fresh almost clean smell, not strong and I think the perfumes within it have made it a more pleasant smell. There is definitely a hint of vinegar in it, but overall it is quite pleasant.

The performance:

I usually use this with product with either a cloth or a paper towel. After administering the liquid to the glass I immediately wipe the area with the cloth and you can literally see the dirt and grim on the cloth. I am always amazed at all the mess that comes off my windows with this cleaning agent. I then check the glass and occasionally scrub the area if the dirt will not come of immediately this could be because it is horrible dried bird's mess, but it always comes off in the end.

The results are superb on my windows both inside and out, leaving them clean without any smears or streaks. I do not find this hard work at all as a rule it is just like wiping a cloth over a surface.

I totally recommend this product for windows, mirrors and glass surfaces. I found it very effective, fast and very easy to use and would not use anything else around my home. As I believe with the entire Mr Muscle product are high quality cleaning equipment.

It does a great job and my windows even externally are super clean for a good 3-4 months following this application.

Any problems or drawbacks?

The only drawback for me with this product is the liquid is fed up the tube for administering. I find when the bottle is almost empty it is impossible to get the dregs of the liquid out so you either end up throwing it away with some still left in or trying to put the last of the liquid directly on a cloth and then onto the surface as to not waste it. I just find that a little frustrating but that has more to do with the Mr Muscle design for all its Kitchen and Bathroom products than specifically this item on its won.

Conclusion:

Well worth paying a little more for. A window and glass cleaner that is very effective without leaving and grim or smears on your surfaces. To my mind this is the best on the market for this function and gets my full and total approval.

Summary: Superb cleaning product.
