Advantages: Polishes
Disadvantages: Cleaning
I don't know about you, but there are times when I'm just not in the mood. This is even though I've told myself how much better I'd feel if I'd actually done it. I just seem to have some sort of block occasionally. Blame the weather, late nights, stress, laziness or whatever. I don't know what it is, but today is such a day. I've got a CD playing out. Music sometimes helps to alter how I feel but it hasn't done the trick so far. It's now a case of deep breathing and discipline to the fore. Will power and all that - let's get it over with. I reach out and my fingers virtually won't fit around the girth, but I give it a shake as best as I can anyway. I glance at the nine inches length and the red rounded top, an impressive 300ml if there ever was. I shake a little more vigorously and apply pressure with my forefinger, the left one as I'm cack handed, and there we go ssssssss sssssssss. That wasn't so bad. A fine spray covers my table. All I need now is a soft cloth and a quick wipe and I'm ready to move onto something else. Damn cleaning, but it is my turn and Mr.Sheen certainly helps with the polishing. I just wish they didn't have that silly looking man on the can, I don't like him, but I suppose that isn't really important. Ssssssss and that's the fire surround done, all shiny and clean looking. I'm not a fuss-pot by any means. I'm certainly not over tidy or fastidious like my boyfriend but, I must admit, I don't like dirt or dust so I do my share. I feel sure I was meant to have a cleaner! Mr.Sheen works for me. I like it because it cleans and shines all in one go - am I really writing this, how sad! But it does you know, and it works on all sorts of surfaces like - another deep breath - wood, glass, mirrors, paintwork, tiles, TV screens, enamel and other similar things. So that can't be bad. It's
not suitable for untreated, unsealed or waxed wooden surfaces though - which is pretty obvious. You might now be thinking something like, "Well that's it, that's all there is to Mr.Sheen". I'd understand this, but there's a couple more surprises in store yet - oh yes! Are you ready? Right. Mr.Sheen has also got a built in 'Waterguard'. How's about that then? When you spray it has a special formula that provides 'superior protection against watermarks' - you know, those circles you often find hidden by strategically placed pots on coffee tables. So that's jolly useful and interesting, isn't it? Let's hit you now with something else. This product has also got 'Dustguard'! Now mocketh not, for this is an anti-static that therefore prevents static build up and so - this is the good bit - keeps dust away for longer. You won't need to dust quite so often, which must be the best news since ... well since I started this review. Oh yes, one more thing, Mr.Sheen also smells alright. I don't usually like artificial smells, or those stinky air-freshners, but the can I have has what is called a 'Spring fresh fragrance' which is acceptable. It's nothing special, or too overpowering, but is sufficient for my boyfriend to notice that I must have got off my backside and done some cleaning. It serves a purpose. Okay, let's recapitulate shall we? Mr.Sheen is a spray polish, made by Reckitt Benckiser, in a can 6.5 inches circumference by 9 inches height, which is very acceptable, and has 300ml contents. To use the stuff you shake thoroughly, hold upright and spray about (another) 9 inches from the surface to be cleaned. There's no need to spray too heavily, just a light film is fine. You then polish to a nice shine with a soft cloth. That's it done. The surface will have been cleaned and will gleam away as g
ood as new and you will also have applied the Dustguard and Waterguard at the same time. If there are any fiddly, twiddly places to clean, like when I do the phone, it's best to spray directly onto a cloth and then do the necessary. There you are, that's the full extent of my knowledge of dusting covered! There's obviously a few things you shouldn't do with Mr.Sheen like ... Sniff the spray - solvent abuse and all that. Spray onto a naked flame, an electric element or any heated surface. Burn the can when empty. Spray on floors, inside of bath or shower. The gloss could make them become over slippery. And of course, don't ... Leave it in the bathroom. Just in case BF's mother mistakes it for a body spray when she visits. I wouldn't want that - much. I'm definitely no expert on polishes but I'm quite happy to give Mr.Sheen five stars. It seems to work okay and does what it should. I haven't compared it to any others because I can't really be bothered. I buy the same one each time mine (his / ours) runs out. I don't see any need to experiment with different makes, life is too short. So that's my cleaning done. A nice shiny flat and, guess what, now I am in the mood. Mr.Sheen you've turned me on - wonder what it was?! ;-> Kay
