A great border for a child's room well made easy to hang and fun to look at

We recently redecorated our 4 year old son's bedroom and he has had a lot of input in deciding themes jungle animals and what he wants for his room. This Noolibird border was one he selected from a choice of three I found on the internet and was the clear favourite from the start.

Noolibird is a small UK based company that specialises in children's bedroom items and stamps. I personally hadn't heard of it till we bought the border but their customer service was excellent when I phoned to order the border. The border came well wrapped in a tube with clear and concise instructions for hanging and I certainly would recommend them if you like their designs and would consider ordering from them again in the future.

The border is in panels rather than rolls as most borders seem to be. My father and I when hanging the panels actually decided that these were much easier to handle than traditional rolls and would definitely look at panels again in the future as they were so easier to get into place and match up. The panels measure Width 85.5 cms x Height 28 cms. The panel is actually quite a deep border which I was a little unsure of when ordering but as soon as I saw them in person I knew they were right as it gives plenty of room for the magical design and nothing about the animals and the scene feels squashed and small. We gave our son the choice of did he want the border around the middle of the room or by the ceiling he choose the ceiling and the large design of the border here comes into its own as you can still see very clearly all the animals walking and flying along the jungle without thinking what is that small dot as you could with a smaller design.

The design is printed on matt paper which gives it a nice classic look I think and the paper itself is lovely and thick which meant when it comes to pasting these up they absorbed the wallpaper paste well and were then easy to fix into place. We have had no problem with them peeling off the walls unlike some cheaper sticky backed borders we have used in the past.

The design was the main attraction for my son each panel consist of a sun, 2 birds flying in the air, an animal parade of an elephant, lion, tortoise, giraffe and a monkey in a tree. The animals are walking along an undulating green path by a river complete with fishes, crabs, seahorses and a white goose. Whilst not all of these are really traditional jungle animals they all do appeal to my son and I would rather have all of these whimsical looking animals that he loves to spot and see than accuracy. The animals are all quirky and fanciful rather than hugely accurate, but what this does in my opinion is make them look appealing and non-threating so my son has never had any nightmares about these animals coming to get him. The pale greens and blues in the background complement well the vibrant green we have for the jungle walls of his room and they help tone down the vibrancy of the walls. When matching each section of the border up we have never had any miss-matching of colour and the design of the undulating green paths all match up very well giving a seamless look to the design as the animals walk through the jungle in his room.

Overall I think these are great wallpaper borders for children's rooms and would suit any animal made youngest like my four year old. The paper is well made and nice and thick so is easy to hang. The design is full of whimsy and playful charm that appeals to my son. The design is nice and large so is easy to see if it is hung by the ceiling apposed to around the middle of the room as shown on the company website. At £4 per border or £15 for 5 or £25 for 10 I think they are not the cheapest out there but we used 10 in our room and had no mishaps with them so there was no wastage. For me they were well worth the money for the design and quality and how much my son loves them full 5 stars. The website to look at and order from is www.noolibird.com.
