This was another one the items in my Christmas goodies from Dooyoo, and I think the hardest to review. I'm afraid I never was much into Punk Rock - but this fellow ( at least I think it is fellow) is about as stereotypical as you can get, knee high doc martins, tartan trousers, dog collar and wild pink mohawk. This is obviously meant for a gag gift, perhaps for an aging punk rock fan, but our pink haired friend is not just a pretty face. Well he isn't a pretty face at all, but he is useful. His hair is very thick stiff bristles which are designed to scrub clean your puts and pans. The plastic body makes a pretty comfortable handle so you could scrub away without breaking nails, and I imagine it would be easier on your hands as well.
Now if you have read this far, you are likely asking why I said imagine. Haven't I actually tried this product before reviewing it? Well, in this case, no, I have not. at least I have not tried it as it was meant to be used.
You see pink hair might be meant for scrubbing away pots and pans, but his bristly head also happens to just perfectly fit into all the creases of my vacuum cleaners filter. So rather than cleaning up the dishes, I use this whenever I empty the canister, to quickly brush away all the dust and debris that accumulates in the filter. But if I used this for greasy pots and pans, I don't think it would work for my filter anymore, so he hasn't had a chance to give the pots and pans a good old fashioned Glasgow Kiss.
It really completely cleans the filter in no time, which I assume reduces all the dust and dirt going back into my home. Before being appropriated for the vacuum filter, I also found this rather handy for brushing out my keyboard, which once again has a fair number of toast crumbs thanks to my rather messy husband. I did find the bristles did a nice job of getting the stuff out from under the keys.
My first thoughts were to give this a fairly low rating, mainly because I would not really buy this, and it just seems a bit silly to me. Yes, I find it very handy for cleaning the hoover, but a low cost plain brush would do just as well, and I am afraid I do find this a bit ugly. But in all fairness, it is well made, and anyone who buys it can judge for themselves whether it is ugly or unique. As a gag gift, I could see this being OK for someone who really likes punk rock - or maybe even just to get a laugh and give to someone who despises things like this. I find £5.99, the price to buy this from Amazon a bit dear, but I can't mark it down too much for that either as you can decide for yourself if this is worth the price. I suppose it all boils down to your sense of taste, but sadly this just does not appeal to mine.
