New Parozone no spill bleach

I got a little over excited when I saw this product in Tesco. The bottle was shaped like a normal bottle of bleach with the bendy bit at the top to go up and under the toilet rim but what really got me was the large silver lock shown on the packaging with big letters declaring its spill lock safety valve and its name had been changed from parozone to no spill parozone.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that I'm a bit accident prone I constantly drip pepper sauce everywhere, spill cups of tea and generally mess up big time. Before I got a steam sterilizer I ruined just about every piece of clothing I owned trying to measure out Milton sterilizing fluid for baby bottles.

I put two bottles into the trolley as it was on bogof - it usually retails around the £1.00 mark.

The childproof lid works like any other bleach, squeeze in and twist to get it off. The lid was off in no time unlike some other bleach products I have struggled with. I aimed it up under the toilet rim, nothing happened, I squeezed really hard and got a good flow going. The bleach seemed to be quite thick and the lavender scent managed to cover up the bleach scent a little.

The bottle was now concave where I had been squeezing and nothing was coming out for the other half of the rim. I pushed and pulled and tried to get the darn thing back to its original shape but nothing worked and nothing came out. Yes its certainly non spill but its also non usable for any length of time. I gave up and put it in the bathroom cupboard.

A few days later I thought, I'll try again, maybe it was because it was the first time, maybe it just needed to adjust. The bottle had pulled itself back into something resembling its original shape and off I went again.

Looking back on it now I should have went the opposite direction this time just in case it stopped half way but no I started in the same place as last time going in the same direction and bleached the same half of the toilet again with the bleach refusing to come out in just about the same place, back into the cupboard it went, I haven't bothered with it since.

This is a good enough bleach but its no good to anyone if you have to wait a couple of days to use it again everytime you use just a small amount.

I love the idea of a no spill bleach and it may well have saved my bathroom carpet from white blotches but I won't be buying this again unless the design is improved.

Summary: Great idea in theory - doesn't work in practice
