You can add oil stain or colour to the finish you require . I just applied 3 coats {half a tin} to a pine table top,10mins to apply each coat 4 hours between coats. Let it dry for 48 hours and I have a shiny surface protecting the wood. I haven't seen it in the D.I.Y stores I got it from Screwfix £4.50 a tin. ...more

I HAVE JUST USED PATINA WOOD TREATMENT TO RESTORE THE STOCK OF AN OLD GUN!! THE FINISH I ACHIEVED BY THIS METHOD IS UNBELIEVABLE!!I FEEL SURE THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER (B.S.A.)WOULD BE PROUD OF IT NOW!!

I have just tried "Patina" and am impressed. The blurb on the back of the tin reads "the protection of polyurethane and the beauty of wax without the problems of either, used by antique restorers, replaces shellac, varnish etc." I'll agree with that.
