I just applied 3 coats {half a tin} to a pine table top,10mins to apply each coat 4 hours between coats. Let it dry for 48 hours and I have a shiny surface protecting the wood. I have just tried "Patina" and am impressed. The blurb on the back of the tin reads "the protection of polyurethane and the beauty of wax without the problems of either, used by antique restorers, replaces shellac, varnish etc." I'll agree with that. It comes in a tin and has the consistency of sticky half set jelly. All you have to do is apply it with a soft clean cloth and rub it in. You can add oil stain or colour to the finish you require .
