My girls both love Peppa Pig and so for their 3rd birthday Peppa Pig was the obvious theme. They had their main party at a soft play place but as we were having family over I thought it would be nice to have Peppa Pig plates to serve the cake on.
The design of the plates we bought had Peppa and her little brother George on wearing party hats, the plates had a red edging with small white stars. They are attractive to look at and both my girls thought they were great and couldn't wait to eat off of them.
The plates came in a pack of 8, I bought 2 packs as we needed 12 plates. They come wrapped in cellophane and so are ready to use once opened. The pack was easy to get into and the plates were easy to separate.
For a paper plate these are good quality and easily coped with the pieces of cake that we served on them. They didn't feel flimsy like some paper plates and I would have felt confident using them for a range of party food. The picture side of the plates was slightly shiny, this added to the look of the plate but also made it slightly waterproof to odd spills.
You can give paper plates to kids without fear of breakages and when they've finished you can just clear them all away. No washing up meant more time spent with the birthday girls.
Price and availability
I spotted these plates in my local Sainsbury's but I have since seen the elsewhere. They are currently available in Asda for £1.25, which is a reasonable price for Peppa Pig plates.
Would I recommend?
Yes, these are great for Peppa Pig themed parties and my girls loved them. They were good quality plates and I would happily buy them again.
I really wasn't going to go overboard for my little girl's second birthday party especially since it was mainly family, however, at the last minute, despite me having basic spotty party plates, my mum picked up and brought these Peppa Pig party plates, since my little girl was and still is mad about Peppa Pig. My Mum picked these up in Asda where she said they were just over a pound for 8 plates. The Peppa Pig plates that my Mum picked up have a slightly different picture from that shown above, and have a red surround with stars as well as both Peppa and her little brother George in the picture with their party hats on. My little girl was over the moon and couldn't wait to use them on her birthday. Not everyone received one as there were more people than Peppa plates, but she didn't mind and in fact we kept one back which she uses in her little kitchen with her play food at present.
These plates are disposable which make them perfect for a party with no or very little washing up afterwards. Each plate is just over 20cm in diameter which is a perfect size for either child or adult when it comes to party food. Party guests at my daughter's birthday who had these plates had plenty of room for their food and I liked the fact that they felt reasonably sturdy, that an adult was able to hold up one of these plates even if they weren't sitting at the table and were able to hold it with food on it, without it sagging in the middle.
These plates were also a popular choice with some of the other children at the party and the bright, colourful picture was a talking point amongst them at the party. Since my mum got my daughter these plates, I have seen in the likes of Asda other Peppa Pig party items to compliment these plates and assuming my daughter will have a birthday for her 3rd birthday this summer, and is still a Peppa Pig fan, I think I would purchase these plates for her as well as matching items like a tablecloth, napkins or even cups.
In the end, I was glad that my mum had bought these plates. They made my daughter happy, they were bright and colourful, strurdy (for a disposable plate) and good quality and worth the money my Mum paid.
We have started giving our eldest daughter is party for her birthday as she is 5 however our younger daughter is only 2 so there is no way I would be paying out for a party just yet. On her last birthday we had the family over and 2 of our friends children so I ordered her a special cake, made up some party bags and blew up some balloons to make it special for her, I bought these plates for a little buffet tea for the children as she loves Peppa Pig.
I bought the plates from our local Tesco who actually have a really great range of party ware and party bag items, I bought plates, cups and napkins although you can also get a tablecloth to match too but I thought I had plenty of Peppa items without needing that too.
The plates are wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper just like plain paper plates come so you simply tear the plastic open to get to the plates. There were 8 plates in the packet which was fine as we only needed 6 so I used the extra couple for sandwiches. The plates cost £2.49 a pack which is pretty expensive for what they are but Emily was happy to have them so I didn't really mind.
The plates were circular as you would expect and had the normal fluted edging around the outside, the plates were very brightly coloured and display a picture of Peppa Pig in the centre of the plate.
The plates did really well and I suppose you could probably give then a rub over and reuse if you wanted as they have a shiny finish on them so nothing seeps through the plates. The plates were pretty strong and didn't rip at all which is great as the childrens ages ranged from 2 to 6 so they were pushed and pulled around quite a bit.
I would recommend these plates and the rest of the items, Emily was really impressed with her Peppa themed tea party and the plates did exactly what I needed them to do.
Last month my youngest daughter turned four, I decided to throw her a mini party and went to Tesco to buy lots of supplies. As she is a massive Peppa Pig fan I chose many items displaying this colourful character, including these Peppa Pig party plates.
The plates came wrapped in clear plastic, there was a small sticker which gave some general information and advice. There were eight 23cm plates and they cost £2.49.
Each of the plates was identical and displayed a lovely picture of Peppa Pigs smiling face, she is wearing her usual red dress. "Peppa Pig" is written at the side, each letter is in a different colour. The picture is really bright, colourful, eye catching and will certainly be appealing to most young children.
I found the plates to be of an excellent quality, they did not tear or break during their use. They are glossy so work well at holding things like Jelly without any liquids seeping through. The sides are raised enough to ensure nothing rolls off the sides.
My daughter and her friends were over the moon with these plates. They helped make the party table look colourful, fun and appealing. Importantly they were durable and fit for purpose. I would certainly recommend these plates for any little Peppa Pig fan's party.
Matching cups, napkins and a table cloth are also available.
