Come on Persil, you can't be serious. Aloe Vera is a plant extract that comes from a spiky plant native to Africa. It's used medicinally to calm skin problems, and to help ease the pain of scrapes, cuts and burns, an effect that may be due to the presence of glycosaminoglycans (long unbranched polysaccharide chains found in connective tissue). It also has laxative effects when taken internally! However, these effects are present when aloe vera is applied directly to the skin, or taken internally, NOT when a small proportion is added to washing powder, which is then dissolved in litres and litres of water, and whizzed round the drum at high speed. ... I have tried the new Persil Aloe Vera Liquigel and it is great, I actually prefer the liquids because they dissolve easier and you don't have to end up cleaning the detergent drawer out because of all those powders and fabric softners which go into the detergent drawer and end up making a yukky mess. This is different because you pour the liquid into a plastic ball and it goes straight into the drum on top of your wash load. Persil has recently launched it's new liquigel range, they are available in a bio, non-bio, colourcare and aloe vera form. Persil have been making washing easier for over 90 years now. In 2002, Persil launched Persil Aloe Vera. In their words "Containing Aloe Vera extract, this product has been designed to leave washing clean, fresh and comfortable next to delicate skin". But does the product live up to the marketing claim? From my experience so far, yes. Persil Aloe Vera is available in both tablet and powder formats.
