I recently bought my first bottle of this clothes washing detergent. My usual product is Surf Small and Mighty with Essential Oils, a biological liquid which I adore because of it's fruity, exotic fragrances. I purchased this Persil product simply because it was priced as a special offer. A 1470ml bottle which gives approximately 42 washes was £4.00 at Asda. This was a considerable saving on my usual purchase.

The product is a non-biological liquid detergent which comes in a large silver labelled bottle. According to the information on the packaging this concentrated formula means the product has 60% less packaging than standard Persil liquid, and helping the environment is one great incentive for buying it. The liquid is two times concentrated than normal liquid and 1 capful is enough for a full load of washing. Instructions on usage do state that in hard water areas you may need a capful and a half to ensure the best cleaning results. This is also the case if you have heavily soiled clothes.

The detergent is described on the label as the "next generation" of laundry cleaning liquids as it's non-bio formula is dermatologically tested to ensure it is kind and a non-irratant to our skins. The bottle is marked with a 'validation' stamp from the British Skin Foundation who support the brand's research into skin care.

The white liquid is very fragrant and you can smell a fresh, summery clean sroma as soon as you remove the cap. The liquid is easy to dispense, being of a smooth, sauce-like consistency. It is also simple to measure the required amount in the cap, although once you dispense this into your washing machine drawer or dosing ball I find that sometimes the remaining liquid can run down the sides of the bottle once the cap is replaced.

The result on my laundry has been brilliant. I do a lot of hiking and walking in very muddy areas and I always have trousers that are literally caked with mud. Even on these very soiled items the detergent manages to remove all traces of dirt and stains. I was very surprised that a non-biological liquid could be so effective. When clothes come out of the machine and they are wet the fragrance is very noticable but not overpowering. Once again it is a fresh, summers day smell. It is a lot less fruity and feminine than my usual product and I would describe the aroma as being more suitable for all of the family and for all types of washing, from all types of clothes to household materials.

When the clothes are dry the aroma is very subtle but still obvious and pleasant. My clothes are left quite soft, although there is no noticable improvement on other detergents I have used. I am most impressed by the clean look and feel of the clothes though. A great result every time I wash!
