Getting greener
~~~~~~~~~~~
Although I am not the greenest person in the world I like to do my bit for the environment when I can, and one small thing I have started doing is using these highly concentrated washing liquids which mean you use less product and can wash your clothes on a lower temperature setting and on a fast wash cycle without compromising the quality of the wash.
Sizes and prices
~~~~~~~~~~~
There are various sizes of bottle available priced as follows:

630ml (18 washes) - £4.30 in Tesco / £4.41 in Asda

1 litre (28 washes) - £6.40 in Tesco / £6.40 in Asda (but on a two for £9 offer)

1.89 litres (54 washes) - £12 in Tesco and Asda but currently selling at half price in both stores.

I often see these products on offer so do keep an eye out! As you can see it's currently cheaper to buy nearly double the amount in stores at the moment. It also comes in many different variants and I have used the Bio and Colour Care versions.

How to use
~~~~~~~~
This comes in a tall bottle and the cap on the top is covered with an additional clear plastic top - or dosing ball. You can either pour a capful into the machine drawer or fill up the dosing ball and pop it in the machine. Or as the Persil website itself now advises you can just fill up the cap and pop that in the drum! This works out as a mere 35ml per wash.
I actually do the latter and always simply fill up the cap and bung it straight in the wash on top of my clothes. With the Bio version I have used most recently, the liquid is a bright blue colour and is very thick. I wash mainly on 30 - sometimes on 40 for really soiled items - and I often go for the fast wash.
Cleaning power!
~~~~~~~~~~~
And despite opting for a cooler temperature and a faster wash I really can't fault the washing power of this liquid! I find that everything comes out of the wash looking perfectly clean - including my little girl's clothes which are often covered in pasta sauce, chocolate and so on (actually my husband's are rarely much better....). As I say, if I have very heavily stained items I would opt for a longer and/or hotter wash for my general everyday laundry this is hard to fault.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Fresh fragrance
~~~~~~~~~~~
And as an added bonus, the clothes always come out of the wash smelling lovely. The Bio version of the liquid has a really clean fresh smell - it's a kind of 'traditional' laundry smell if you like, compared to all the exotically fragranced powders and liquids you tend to get in the shops these days (which I also like incidentally). I tend to have to hang clothes on my radiators to dry and the clean clothes really do fill the house with this lovely fragrance. And best of all, the scent does linger on clothes. So even after they've been packed away in drawers when you take out items that have been washed with this product they still smell really fresh and clean.

Highly recommended
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Overall I really recommend this product. It's better for the environment and it does a great job of cleaning clothes and leaving them smelling really clean and fresh. But I would say to watch out for price promotions in the supermarket as it can work out pricey at full price.
Summary: A lovely and effective washing liquid
