Advantages: cleans clothes

Disadvantages: more expensive than other brands

I'm usually the kind of person that stays loyal to a brand, well not exactly loyal I just end up picking the same thing up often when i'm shopping, and that usually because I like the price more than anything.

I first picked up Persil about 4 months ago and am using it just now - literally, as I have loads of washing to do. I think the box was on offer at £1.50, and this is the smallest box a 1.1kg, or on the front it says 15 washes. The normal price for this is around £2.30-£2.60, however you can buy this in a lot larger size and it does get more economical

The box is ok. I am using the Non Bio one and that is blue with white in the middle. It has a bit cheesy picture of a man holding a baby's hands while it smiles - my advice ditch the sappy picture! It has Persil in bold red writing and has that strange splat shape that most Persil products have on them.

On the side it helpfully states dosages. In a standard scoop it holds 110g, so in 10 washes you will use the whole box, even though it says 15 on the front. I guess it depends on loads. It says i a hard water area for example you should use 240g of powder if the items are heavily soiled, so your box could be empty by the end of the week!

The smell is alright. I am used to using Surf, which smells like fruits, flowers and all that jazz, but this just has a clean, airy, fresh smell to it, which is what we are looking for anyway.

It works, but i've never found a powder that doesn't clean clothes to be honest. Our clothes are never heavily stained anyway - unless hubby spills curry down his t-shit, which happens every few weeks! So it does what it says.

Don't quote me on this, but I know a few people who have allergies to some washing powders and they say that Persil Non-Bio is alright for them to use, as it doesn't irritate them.

A good enough product, but some other manufacturers are slightly cheaper for the same thing and that could help people watching the pennies.

Summary: does what it says on the box
