Advantages: A good liquid with exceptional degreasing powers.

Disadvantages: None

Finding a washing up liquid that can be gentle on the skin yet effective on the dishes is a bit of a task in itself. I probably make the problem worse because I just love using plenty of liquid.
Recently I tried some of Lidl`s washing up liquid, it worked well, it had a decent smell but on my hands it acted like a paint stripper. Sure enough within a day my rings were off of my fingers until the sore skin had healed.

Persil are known to produce mild products, so when I paid my weekly visit to Sainsbury I picked up a bottle of Persil Lemon Zest. Lemon liquid always seems fresh and pleasant to use.
How the product is marketed is the key to its success an Persil have tried to make this liquid look attractive. I realise that may sound a little bizarre but to many women it makes perfect sense (without risk of sounding sexist!)

The lemon liquid comes in a well shaped plastic bottle that allows you to grasp the central part of the bottle with ease as it is purposefully narrowed. For the most part the bottle is plain clear plastic but there are a few bands set into the plain plastic that have been pitted to create the `lemon peel` look. The front label is in keeping with the product, a sunshine yellow background with a blue and yellow `sunburst` and the name Persil stands out in bold red.

Unilever have added a small sticker to the back of the bottle which does tell you that prolonged use of the product may cause skin irritation. But they also say that the liquid has exceptional degreasing power.
I admit that I am a bit obsessive when it comes to the washing up and probably use far more liquid that I should do anyway but I always rinse the dishes thoroughly in hot tap water afterwards.

Persil lemon liquid certainly has the `bubble factor`, a tiny squirt creates a sink full of good long lasting bubbles.
The lemon smell is clearly there and rises up to meet you as you start to wash the dishes. If I have a particularly greasy dish I have to add a tiny spot of extra liquid to clear away the grease thoroughly, I added the extra spot to the `eggy` plate and it whipped the greasy residue away fast and efficiently. As well as being effective the liquid left the dishes feeling really clean and fresh. I know that this may well sound corny but it is truthful!
Whatever Persil have added to the liquid that acts as a degreaser does the job very capably.

The bottle of Lemon Persil liquid cost me 93p, so far no broken skin or minor irritations. As washing up liquids go it has to be very near to the top of the class for effectiveness.
Try as I might I cant find any negatives about the product, it is a good honest product from a highly respected company.

Summary: A pleasant smelling liquid that does the job admirably

I am allergic to this. it was great when my sister took it on holiday last year so couldn't wash a single dish.

I like Sainsburys Naturals (or whatever they're called) - they do some really nice flavours. Not that I eat them, you understand.

we've been stuck on fairy for years cos of the bubble factor, but sounds worth giving persil a go - thanks!
