I bought these on Amazon for £18.99 last year, as a gift. They seemed to look very unique. Not too expensive and being made by Philips, I thought they should be OK. Delivery was quick and they come supplied in a nice cube shaped box. They look as though they should cost a lot more than they do.

Upon unpacking to test them out, I plug the base in. The idea is that you stand the 3 cylindrical lamps in the base and they recharge. There is no visible plug and socket connection, they are completely flat on the bottom, so look really neat. Almost magic how they recharge. After they sat in the base for an hour I just had to try them You sort of tip them upside down, then back the right way quickly and this turns them on. Repeating the process turns them off.

They do not give out much light... but certainly are comparable to how much a candle would perform. The little bulb waivers inside the frosted glass part of each lamp. From the outside they really do look like candles, very clever and very well done. So I was impressed, left them on charge and used the next day to test again. They ran for a good six hours without running out. You can use them in the base, or remove them and place where you want. Wow!

So the only negatives I could find were two. There is no way of telling when they are fully charged or how much juice is left. Second, if only they were just a little brighter, they would be a lot more useful.

For a unique gift though, they are a bargain.
