Indeed, for a quick touch up to a dusty old cupboard or a small coating of a large item this paint does what it says on the tin! However, from an artists point of view this paint is far from useful. The colours lack opacity, making it nearly impossible to cover a dark colour with one lighter than it, especially if using yellow, a notoriously horrid colour from the Plastikote range. During my art course I used a wide range of spray paint, and Plastikote does not offer an effective nor affordable spray paint option. Paint from the "Belton-Molotow" range provides an enormous range of colours with excellent opacity and superior valve control, perhaps a more valid ... Read the complete review

This week one of my friends was packing up her flat and getting ready to move house. She said if there is anything that you want, take it now. Now I do like shelves but to be honest, they had been varnished and were not done correctly but rather than look at the negative side of the shelves, I thought what can I do with them. I took them home and give them a light sanding down and this revealed pine underneath. Pine is just not my cup of tea, I thought these would look ideal in any of the rooms that are now been revamped but I did not want to gloss them as the paint causes my asthma to go haywire. Now why the heck I did not think of this ... Read the complete review

If any of you have been kind enough to read my review on Johnstone's paint you'll know we've been doing up a spare bedroom as a 'proper' study. The walls, skirting boards & door have all been painted, the desk & shelves sorted so it was just a matter of sorting out the filing cabinet which, although the perfect size, looked a wee bit shabby compared to the rest of the room. I asked hubby to pick up some spray paint (he seems to live in DIY shops lol!) & he came home with this Plastikote enamel paint which he said was @ £5 for the 340g can. I was a bit dubious about it being enamel paint (I would have chosen metallic) but decided not to say anything ... Read the complete review

Plasti-kote spray on is easy to use and it comes in a host of colours ranging from metallic blues to ordinary plain gloss black. This paint is waterproof, heat proof, corrosion proof and the colour won't fade. So it is useful for lots of different jobs around the house. You do need to mask areas off carefully with tape and newspaper before spraying or the fine spray will get everywhere. I find the spray cans useful for larger area but plasti-kote also do small jars of conventional 'brush-on' paint in the same range of colours. This is exactly the same as the spray but much easier to work with in very small areas. I have used this enamel ... Read the complete review

Plasti-kote produce a range of spray paints, being enamel based they are ideal for use around the home. They make a wide range of colours and are very easy to use. Our old fridge freezer was in need of a make over, inspired by many of the Home Front type programmes on tv decided to respray it to match in with the rest of the kitchen. B&Q, Homebase etc all sell these paints, about £6 for a 400ml can. This is so easy to use, lightly rub down the old paint finish, mask anything you don't want sprayed shake the can and away you go. Each coat goes on without the need to wait ages for it to dry, being more of a powder paint it doesn't run or sag ... Read the complete review
