Advantages: Makes dusting so much quicker, no need for polish

Disadvantages: The cleaning still has to be done! :o(

Okay, maybe that’s going a bit too far – let’s face it, housework is never going to be more fun than clicking away on dooyoo, is it? But I am so impressed by this new invention that I simply have to write about it.

Being severely allergic to housework, I am always on the lookout for anything that will help make mind-numbing chores like dusting and vacuuming quicker and easier for me. Well, Pledge Dust & Go does just that!

It looks so simple, it’s hard to believe at first. For £9.99 you buy your starter kit, which consists of one sweeper and 10 dry disposable dusting cloths.

The sweeper takes about 30 seconds to assemble, you just have to screw the five parts together. It’s a good system because you can make it longer or shorter just by removing a part. Then you take one of the cloths, lay it flat and place the sweeper head on top of it. Then you just have to tuck the cloth into the grippers on top of the sweeper head and you’re ready to push that sweeper around your floors for all you’re worth! (Obviously, you can’t use it on carpets or other fabric surfaces).

For furniture dusting, it’s even simpler. No need for any polish, just grab a cloth and wipe over. Because the cloths don’t contain any polish or cleaning agent, they don’t leave any residue, so you can use it just about anywhere!

Apparently, it works by creating an electro-static charge that attracts dust particles and hair and makes them cling onto the cloth. It’s supposed to be more effective than vacuuming or dusting because these medieval (!) methods simply stir all the dust up into the air, only to settle again later.

Now I’ve got my system, all I have to do is buy refill cloths, which are cheap at around £1.69 for a pack of 10. One cloth goes a long way (depending on how dusty your house is, of course!).

There’s something refreshingly lazy about this system,
which is why I love it. I never would have thought I would feel so passionately about a household cleaning system that I would want to write a review of it, but here I am! So give it a go – I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Any supermarket, Shazzy, in the household section ... yes, I'm afraid you'll have to venture there.

I must get one! NOW! Where can I find a shop that sells them at 4.30 am? Seriously, I'm a huge fan of anything that'll make housework easier, and this sounds as if it's right up my street!
