Advantages: Fills holes

Disadvantages: None

You could be forgiven for thinking polyfilla was a sex offence involving parrots, but it is actually stuff for filling holes. Holes in walls and wood and stuff, not holes in parrots, which would indeed be an offence. It comes in different forms. You can get it in little boxes which you have to moisten yourself and give a good mixing by hand, but I prefer someone else to get it moist for me. So mine comes all gooey in a long tube. You just need to get your hand round it and give it a little squeeze and the gooey stuff comes oozing out the top, ready to be slipped into the awaiting hole.

It takes two hours to dry up, which is quite long. You can use it to fill holes indoors or outdoors, so it's quite keen on a bit of variety. Oh, and it's drillable, so you can give it a right good drilling anytime you want.

Some tips for using it, straight from the back of the tube!!

* Ensure crack is dry and free from loose material
* Touch in nails and screw heads
* Work tube well between fingers
* Squeeze directly into gap
* Replace cap and wash down tools in warm water

The tube also states:

"Multi purpose Polyfilla is ready mixed to a smooth, creamy consistency giving a guaranteed adhesion and a fill which will not shrink or crack. This handy, squeezable tube directs the filler exactly where you want it"

So there you go, if you have any holes waiting to be filled this is great stuff. If you find that it is a little bit dry you can add a little bit of lubrication yourself, depending on the size of the hole being filled, a little lick of the finger and a quick rub over is usually enough to get the desired moisture.

Remember to revisit the hole later too and make sure it is still OK, some holes require quite a bit of work, multiple fillings. I'm away now to see if there are any more holes that need filling around here. I might even drill a couple myself then fill them again lat
er. I like filling holes me.
