A must for all arts and crafts projects
Member Name: brady58
Advantages: Actually sticks things down
Disadvantages: Dries out and goes clumpy quickly when the lid isn't replaced tightly
Pritt Stick is something that I have been buying for years as I go through a lot in my house doing arts and crafts with the kids. Because we use a lot I usually buy it in packs instead of buying them individually as it works out cheaper for me this way. A pack of three pritt sticks costs in the region of £10 for the thicker bigger ones so it isn't really all that cheap but they are so much better than the glue you can buy from the pound shops and they last a lot longer too that I find it better to spend a little more upfront as otherwise it would cost me more in the long run.
The glue is a solid glue that comes in a twist stick so it is much easier and safer for children to use. It also isn't that strong so there is little chance of them sticking their fingers together or anything but of course they should still be supervised at all times. It also has a really low odour so it is the ideal glue to use for craft projects around the home.
Pritt Stick works so well as sticking down the majority of things and rarely do I need to use it twice to stick something down. It won't stick down anything heavy duty but for paper and card it is ideal and in my mind the best that you can buy. Being so easy to manoeuvre it makes little in the way of mess and it is easy to be accurate with it even for my kids who are a little impatient with things.
You do need to make sure that you always replace the lid tightly each time you use it even if you are going to be using it again in a few minutes as it dries out easily and can become clumpy and difficult to spread when it goes dry.
I have a smaller Pritt Stick which I use myself for lots of things but especially for sticking down envelopes as I find the adhesive in modern envelopes is useless and barely keeps the flap stuck down. I always buy the thicker and bigger ones for the kids as I find that these ones are easier for them to use more accurately whereas for me personally I find them a little too big for my hands.
For any sort of arts and craft projects then Pritt Stick is an invaluable tool and definitely better than the cheaper brands that are out there. At least with this one you can be sure that it is actually going to stick everything down whereas with the cheap ones you will spend all your time going over the same bit to make sure that it has stuck.
