Here I am, joining the crowd of Pritt Stick reviews. Do I have anything new to add to what has already been said? Probably not, but I will try to be as informative as possible.
Many reviews I have read on this product have mentioned using it for craft activities with children. My experience of Pritt Stick is very different; I use it at work, for preparing expense claims. Our expense claims department is very particular about how receipts are submitted: stuck on A4 paper, with 3 inches left blank at the top, and firmly stuck down either with tape or glue, but there must be tape along the leading edge.
My preference for sticking down all these receipts depends on the receipt itself. For crinkly ones printed on standard till receipt paper, I like to glue them down and then put tape on the edge. For ones on more regular paper, I'll just tape them down. Taping is quicker, but it doesn't work so well on crinkly paper.
So when we order office stationery, I always make sure I have plenty of Pritt Stick available. I order packs of 12 at a time, always the 11g size, which I think is the smallest. I choose the smallest size as although the larger ones do offer better value for money, the smaller one gives you more accuracy as you glue the edges of small receipts.
The glue comes in a stick which you wind up from the bottom as the glue gets used. I never have too much poking out the top at one time, as you can end up with lumps coming off which you don't need. All you need is a thin layer of glue spread across whatever you're sticking (this isn't a heavy duty glue but is ideal for paper, card and craft materials).
As soon as I have spread the Pritt Stick over the back of the receipt and stuck it to the A4 paper, that's it - it's now stuck there, and to pull it off I would have to tear the receipt. On occasions when I have made a mistake and included a receipt I shouldn't have, I've had to cut it out. For a glue which is really fairly lightweight compared to the stronger glues out there, it really is very good for use on paper. My receipts stick to the paper smoothly and easily.
As I use the smallest size of Pritt Stick, and I use the glue quite a lot, I get through a lot of them. If things are quiet one stick can last me a couple of weeks, but I have got through one in a single batch of expense processing, if I've got several hefty claims to do in one go. I find it to be generally mess free, although inevitably I do sometimes get some on my hands; although it makes your skin sticky when you get it on yourself, it is very easy to wash off just with soap and warm water.
Having tried a cheaper variation of Pritt Stick, I'm now committed to the brand - the cheaper version was rubbish. Pritt Stick isn't something I need often at home, but I would be happy to buy this myself as I know that it is worth the extra cost over cheaper varieties.
