Disadvantages: expensive, not sure if toilet roll is enviromentally friendly

Toilet paper. It?s hardly an exciting subject for a review. I know you would all rather be reading a review on an n exotic location, or a fun game or anything but boring old bog roll. However it is an essential of life. Where would we be without it?

This review is going to focus on Quilted Velvet produced by S.C.A Hygiene a German company who make all manner of hygiene products that are embarrassing to discuss but are much needed.

History

In ancient times people used sponges as toilet paper.
As recent as 1935 toilet paper was declared splinter free. It was only in 1942 two ply paper was invented.

Quilted Velvet is marketed as a luxury toilet paper. Their marketing slogan is fun for your bum. Fun toilet paper, there?s a novelty. Due to this you pay a premium for comfy toilet paper. I am not too fussed about having super duper toilet roll, but my boyfriend insists it has to be quilted or triple thickness. He tries to test the softness in the packet.
Don't get me wrong, I do like soft toilet paper- I hate the thin horrible scratchy cheapo stuff you get in public toilets and schools. That does hurt and I'm not advocating that, but to me toilet roll is toilet roll and if it is semi soft and a pretty colour it does not matter to me what the make is as long as it is cheap. Why spend money on something as boring when you have nice food recreation and beauty products to spend money on?

The Product

The product in hand is nice and white. The pack I purchased was a pack of nine rolls. You can also get them in four packs.

The Packaging

The bag is strong with a nice handle so you can proclaim to the world what toilet paper you buy when walking down the street. The logo is blue and gold to signify quality with a big white velvet logo. Apparently this packaging is recyclable where facilities exist so added points for environmental concerns.

The product specifications say that there are
on average 192 sheets per roll, with each sheet being 139mmx110mm. minimum roll length should be 26.7mettres. So that's a lot of toilet paper.

The toilet paper is white. It also comes in champagne, pink, peach and violet. White is nice and flexible and does not clash with bathroom colour schemes!

The toilet roil is big and fluffy with little square dimples. On further examination it feels nice and soft.

However I?m not sure how environmentally friendly the actual toilet paper is. There does not seem to be any indication on if it is recycled or how much bleach and nasty chemicals are used in it.

Is it worth the money?
I'm not sure how much it costs but I estimate about £3. It is a nice luxury but I still would prefer cheaper slightly less soft toilet paper, but my partner does not, so less pennies for nice interesting things.
