Advantages: Low price and smells good.
Disadvantages: Not very effective on thick grease and dirt.
- Packaging -
This comes in a transparent, plastic bottle with a very simple blue sticker on the front and a matching blue nozzle just as the picture shows.
The nozzle has a handle attached to it which when pulled inwards, dispenses the spray. At the end of the nozzle there is a square section which can be turned on to an 'on' or 'off' setting. Given that I don't have any little ones in the house who could get their little mits on this product, mine tends to stay on the 'on' section. However this feature is good for those of you with young children in the house as it means that they can't 'accidentally' spray any of this on to themselves.
- Price & Availability -
Given that this is a Sainsbury's product, no surprises that it can only be purchased from them!
At the cost of 88p for 500ml it is considerably cheaper than other anti-bacterial sprays such as Dettol which are in the £1.70+ price bracket.
- What does it promise? -
~ Cuts through grease and grime
~ No added colouring
~ Gives antibacterial protection against Salmonella, Listeria and E-coli
- What can it be used on? -
Not surprisingly this can be used on any washable surface and the packaging also suggests that it can be used on high chairs and baby equipment. It also states that you should allow the surface to dry prior to any food preparation.
- My Experience -
I like the smell of this, it has quite a strong scent to it which is fine by me as when I use spray cleaners I like the place to not only look but smell as if it has been cleaned!
This is a clear liquid and the spray dispenses it really well over the surface that is waiting to be cleaned.
In terms of it's ability to clean surfaces, it is fine on areas that aren't really that dirty, e.g. bench areas with a few crumbs on etc but as far as grease is concerned, e.g. on the hob after frying then it falls a bit short of other sprays that I have used. It appears to be far less effective with 'real' grease and grime and my areas don't even get that bad as I'm a bit fanatical about cleaning benches etc.
As far as it's anti-bacterial abilities are concerned, since I can't see the germs and bacteria etc I can't comment on it's effectiveness in this area although I am sure that they couldn't market it as such if they weren't sure that it has such abilities - well I hope not, anyway!
So overall, this is a competitively priced, good smelling, spray cleaner which is ideal for cleaning surfaces that aren't too dirty or have 'caked' on, dried up, food substances, splashes etc on them. If that is what you are looking for then it's considerably cheaper than other branded anti-bacterial sprays. The negative to the product is that it isn't very efficient on grease or 'real' dirt!
Summary: A good cleaner for surface dirt.
