Yes I know I can hear you all. She is writing about washing powder AGAIN. Yes I know, I am sad but it will be all worth it in the end. As I am saving my dooyoo points for something very special and I might tell you all about it one day. But not yet. Well back to the exciting topic of washing powder. Well I will start from the beginning. I am always searching for a bargain. I was in my local Sainsbury's and was wandering around aimlessly and saw a bargain on the end of a shelf. It was a huge box (can't remember the size but it was very heavy to carry. Well hubby carried it not me.) of washing powder for colours. It was £6.99 (well nearly £7 pounds but £6.99 sounds better) I knew that I had one £2.50 reward voucher and thought that I would use that to bring the price down to £4.49. And I knew that I would get loads of washes out of it. As I use a less then what they say on the packet. Hubby and I do not do a dirty sweaty job (well maybe just on a Friday and a Saturday night. Before any one gets crude or rude. I slave away at a second job on those nights stacking shelf's at the local supermarket while all of you sleep soundly in your beds.) When I got home I put the box out by the front door. As it is cool and dry and I did not need to use it just yet. As I had a enough to wash my colours for at least another week or two. Well once I had run out I brought the box in to the kitchen and tried to fir it under the sink. The box was too big. So I had to decant the powder in to another container. I will put on my serious head for one moment. Note it is not such a good idea if you have children especially as I put it in a flump container. But I don't have children so not a problem for me Well the powder is white with lots of blue speckles. It smells just like washing powder. No over powering chemical smell. I popped all my trousers, shirts etc in to the washing machine and measured out some powder with
me little Novon measuring ball from a previous box. Another thing to note is that you do not getting a measuring cup in this box. Popped the powder in the draw. I know that you get a bigger loss of powder than direct in to the drum. But I have found that when you put tablets and powder in the drum that it can leave a white powder stain on the clothes. It will brush off when dry but it looks like a bird has pooped on the clothes. A rather large bird. But since putting the powder back in the draw I have not found that it does not leave a stain any more. I finally put the washing on. Left it for the 45mins that it takes to wash and then took it all out of the machine. I can't say it was a miracle and my clothes have never been cleaner. That would be a blatant lie. The clothes are clean and smell fresh. The big box will last a long time. As I said before I don't use as much as it says on the box. (People always use far to much of products as they guess how much and then over estimate.) And it was already a good deal. But even better with my reward voucher (which get from buying my petrol from Sainsbury's petrol station. Well worth the money for me.
