Oust

I am a big fan of air fresheners, but not air fresheners which mask any smells with a hideous, often quite over powering floral bouquet smell, but those which eliminate smells.

I always used Neutradol, and in fact, still have it in my car ready for any eventuality, but am now, on the recommendation of someone I know, using Oust.

When I first looked at the information on the can, I did assume that this was going to be a similar kind of product to my normal air freshenerl (that is, eliminating not masking smells). Having used it for a while now, I do think that they are similar types of product, so anyone who likes to use products which eliminate smells will almost certainly like this (I think!).

It has also won "Product of the Year", which it proudly states on the can i.e. find out about it on www.productoftheyear.co.uk. So, if you like to name drop (I use a product of the year product), this is one to use.

~~PROMISES TO…~~

This promises to eliminate odours without masking them. I am unsure as to how it does this, but it tells me that its special formula does indeed neutralise bad odour molecules in the air.

~~PRODUCT AND PACKAGING~~

This comes in a 300ml spray can with the spray nozzle at the top. This is presumably so that when you spray it you are spraying the product into the air and not directing it at anything.

The spray itself is a fine clear mist and because mine is the citrus scent, it does smell a bit lemony. This isn't to say that it leaves an overpowering smell of lemons; indeed no, there is a trace of lemons but the over riding smell is freshness!

I have also seen an outdoor scent can, so will be giving this a try next- can't imagine what that will smell of because most of the time when I go outside it smells of car fumes.

~~USING IT~~

How simple is this? Simply give the can a bit of a shake, point it towards the centre of the room, and spray.

~~WARNINGS~~

I would say that the biggest warning it issues is the fact that it is highly flammable, so don't smoke and spray.

~~MADE BY~~

www.scjohnson.co.uk. The website even has a video of the spray being used, which if you are interested in that kind of thing is quite good.

~~WHAT I THINK OF IT~~

I like this spray. We don't really have a lot of smells in the house- no smoking unless it's outside/pets, that kind of thing. However, we do have our fair share of stinky football boots and things. So, I tend to spray the Oust on to these and just generally round the house as I walk about.

It does leave the house very fresh smelling, but without a distinctly overpowering floral smell, reminiscent of a lot of air fresheners.

The spray is easy to use, and comes out as a fine mist rather than a thick spray, so I don't feel as though it is lying in clumps on the carpet and other flat surfaces. I have got to the end of this can, and am ready to buy the outdoor scent one, but another thing I like about it is that it does spray right to the end.

These are easy to pick up in Savers shops and for a very effective odour neutraliser which will leave your house and shoes sweet smelling, it really is cost effective and useful.

Thanks for reading.
