Advantages: Good quality, thin wires, does the job

Disadvantages: None for me

With the cold evening fast approaching I found myself digging out my electric that I purchased from Argos some years back. I am not a fun of cold weather and I do not like going into the cold bed. This was the reason for purchasing this blanket few years back (I think it's 5th year now), so I could have lovely warm toasty bed just before I go to sleep. I have brought single one only to use on my side of the bed as my husband is always warm. Whilst he sits on the sofa in short sleeve top, I sit wrapped up in the blanket haha.

What I usually do is put it on about 15-20 minutes before I go to bed which is enough time to get my bed nicely warmed up. It takes about 15 minutes to fully warm it up, I use setting number 3 (the highest one). Blanket can be used all night long if needed, I usually just use it to warm up my bed but I have used it in the middle of the night in the past I think only couple of times when I was feeling bit chilly.

The blanket comes in a zip through bag which is very useful so I can re-use the bag to store my blanket over the months I do not use it without it getting dusty or dirty. It is made of fleecy material which is soft to touch and has thin wires going through it vertically which provides heat. I must say wires are very very thin and I cannot feel them when laying on the blanket which I put under my flat sheet. The blanket is secured on the bed by ties, my blanket is only single one as mentioned above so I put ties over my husband's side of the bed, under the bed and tied it on the other side to the blanket which has little hoops provided for tying. My husband never once complained about anything poking him at night and I bet he doesn't even know that there are ties going over his side of the bed which is really good (for me).

The blanket has remote control with heating setting: 1, 2 and 3, with 3 being the highest setting. It also has 0 on it for switching off. Remove control is attached to the blanket by thick wire cable which can be easily de-attached, by not too easy that it comes off on its own whilst you using it.

One thing that slightly annoys me is that the actual cord attachment it is quite big and plastic which it will poke you at night if you roll on it. I positioned by blanket in slight angle so the attachment is right at the edge of the bed to avoid me rolling over it. This is not a big deal though and would not put me off using it at all.

Cleaning the blanket is easy peasy, you can use damp cloth if you just want to refresh it but it can also be washed in the washing machine at 40 degrees. I washed mine on 30 degrees previously which did the job nicely and just let it dry on the line, but you can also use tumble dryer if preferred ( I haven't got one of those).

The blanket has some other really good spec such as:
*Low energy consumption.
*Overheat protection.
*15 mins minutes to heat up to 37 °C.
*Size W72, L152cm (W28, L60in)

I have purchased my blanket from Argos few years ago so I do not know exactly how much I paid but currently retails at £22.99 for single, £29.99 for double and £34.99 for king size version.

Overall I am very happy with my cosy blanket and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes their bed nice and cosy and gets cold easily. As mentioned above, for the price I paid it already lasted me few year but I will definitely purchase one of these again if my current blanket gives up on me.

Summary: Good item for chilly nights
