Silvo. I had a trip down memory lane with you when I recalled cleaning brass with Brasso. Now I shall clean the silver with Silvo liquid metal polish.
This product is made by Reckitt Benckiser and has like Brasso been around many years, even before the days when I used to clean my neighbors silver for my guides shilling for the willing task (bob a job) I think that due to health and safety that guides and scouts no longer do this to raise money.

Silvo liquid polish comes in a cylindrical tin with a blue circle in the centre with silvo in silver written on. Blue and silver stripes radiate from this blue circle tin . There are 150mls in this tin. This cleaner is also available in 250ml rectangular tins. As well as the liquid that I am describing today Silvo also comes in a pack presoaked in wadding, the wadding easier to use than the liquid.

Using Silvo

Let's open the can of silvo, have a duster ready. Pour a little liquid onto your cloth it is a silvery grey and rub it onto your silver item. After you have applied the silvo liquid use a clean duster to rub the grey silvo off and give your silver (or silver plated item's) a shine. Buff and shine the silver will then gleam and shine no longer looking dull and faded.



Silvo can be used to clean stainless steel ,gold and chrome, , copper ,and electroplate items It can be used on household items your gold jewelry and the shiny bits on your car or bicycle , gives your mirror a shine too.
