Advantages: A very good silver polish.

Silvo polish.

This brilliant metal polish, is basically a less abrasive version of the famous Brasso, it even comes in the same metal tins (Silvo ones are Blue). These cost about £2.50 and hold 150 grammes, strange they measure a liquid by weight. You will find this stuff in bigger tins, but to be honest the small size is enough for most households. You can even get Gallon tins for use in Stately Homes

The can has a plastic cap, which is easy to open, and you are advised to shake the can before use. The liquid is poured out onto either a cloth, or direct onto the silver, or whatever metal you are cleaning. The liquid polish contains solvents that dissolve the build up of dirt, and when dry, the metal is buffed off to leave a brilliant shine. The polish seems to leave a film behind, making the metal shine, and repel dirt in the future.

The polish can be used on any metal, although there is no abrasive effect like Brasso, so results on brass or copper will not be as good, it does however clean all metals without removing eroding away any detail like Hallmarks etc..

I can thoroughly recommend this stuff, a can lasts a long time, and the results are very good. There are no Health & Safety fears, unless you intend drinking the stuff. The only other requirement is a soft cloth, yellow dusters are fine. This stuff works on all sorts, even your Mobile. You will see it sold virtually everywhere.
