When you read this review do not be tempted to think that I have a stash of silver! I am so sorry to disappoint anyone but I buy it to clean a couple of trinket boxes that I class as `The family silver!` I must be abnormal, well I know im abnormal! I love cleaning brass or silver, I find it quite therapeutic. Years ago I always used the liquid cleaner, but the wadding if far easier, less messy and you only need use a tiny bit to clean with. I have bought a few bits of silver at the local auction house, I fall in love with them but then sell them on deciding I have no room for them. -0-DURAGLIT SILVO WADDING -0- My experience of using 'Silvo Wadding' spans about 12 years. I used to be an Antique dealer and spent many hours happily cleaning silver and silver plate items to sell. I started out using the Silvo pink cream polish which was quite hard work and always took a few applications to really get the dirt out of the silver and bring out the true colour and shine of the metalware. Most people who deal in silver and silver plate use the Silvo wadding and it was recommended to me for just this purpose. I opened the drawers in the old, old house and discovered some dull tarnished lifeless cutlery. I remember the days over 30 years ago when the spoons in this draw shone and I could see my reflection, I remember well 40 years ago when the light caught the blade of the knife and the gleam dazzling my eyes. What had happened to the luster on the forks? All the prongs, blades, and bowl's were dim. This silver cutlery was part of my heritage, christening spoons of long dead great aunts and uncles, wedding presents for my parents.
